Robertson could be one to look at if he overcomes his health issues , approx $ 380k and should get a 20% discount

Doch , Williams , Roberton may mean not needing all of Crouch , Hanners , Scully & Libba as starting mids.

A few forwards to look at if we don't get Bont , Danger , Dusty & Heeney

Greene $ 403k should get a 10% discount
JJK $ 407

Billings :) $ 446
Dahl $ 428

Greene a lock I reckon. Billings will go close, and I'll just cut him if he stops trying again. JJK used to be just a few points off premo status, and very durable, but I'm not sure either is true any more. Could be a good starting pick if he has the right early draw though.

Yeah I agree Greene will be a lock.
JJK generally has those 2-3 massive games that inflates his average.
Depends if Bont , Danger , Dusty get F status.
If Shiel goes to Carlton , Taranto has to be a lock.
Interested in Greenwood , Parish , McCluggage as well.
Bennell as a very cheap F4 could be enticing as well.

All? Not interested in any of those.

Can’t wait for 2019 positions.

I agree re Dusty, Danger and Bont but I’d be very surprised if either of the first two were forward eligible. My sense would be Dusty has played up forward most this year but he’s a player that I think they’d be reluctant to make a lock due to forward positioning.

I can definitely see myself getting drawn into Bennell too. Clearly a high risk, but the potential reward is also massive, like Wells a few years ago, and if he’s a bust he is easy to downgrade to the next best rookie you don’t have.

Just have to wait and see who gets F status and who maintains it , anxious and exciting times ahead.

Certainly is a few players returning from injury that should be heavily discounted.

Now just wait for the rookies.

Having copped the dreaded Kelly C bullet on the weekend which cost me my main money league is there anything less fair in this game than having players concussed or injured and going off for good during the game? In my mind this is a poor simulation of the real game because the real game gives you some ability to absorb injuries via the bench whereas SuperCoach does not.

My idea is that if you have a player go off the ground for good due to injury then you receive a portion of an emergencies total score based on the percentage of the game missed by your player. A similar principle would apply to your Vice Captain if your Captain goes down.

For example Kelly went off on Saturday night at about the 20 minute mark of the 3rd quarter. That means he missed about 40 minutes of a 120 minute game. Under my proposal I would be entitled to one third of my emergencies score (Ahern) who scored 35 so I would get an extra 12 points and because Kelly was my captain I would get one third of my VC score (Mitchell) who scored 102 so I would get an extra 34 points. This would add 46 points to my score which is still a penalty because you are replacing a premium score with with an emergency but isn’t such a drastic penalty and is a reasonable simulation of what happens in an actual game.

btw I lost my league match by 48 so it would have still meant a 2 point loss - Damn it!!
I really like the basis of the idea, unfortunately, we are very unlikely to see something similar come in.
Too many people would be confused by the concept, and not understand it (look at how many people still don't understand and utilise loopholes). Confused players will be temporary players, and while it would be great for the games purists, it would end up in a decline in the number of participants, and that's something they will avoid at all costs. Unfortunately, like most things in life, they are more likely to cater to the uninformed masses, that want the easy road to participation, than make a game that could be slightly more involved, or dare I say it, cerebral.
I agree with the frustration, and the idea that this doesn't replicate the real game. Personally I think it clearly detracts from the game ... the burn when it happens to you is not o***et by the pleasure that might be derived from it happening to others.

I think a really simple fix is to set a minimum level of TOG - perhaps 60% - and if a player doesn't hit that figure, they get replaced by the next man in, as though they didn't take the field at all. This would apply to both regular players and captains.

RE: …….My idea is that if you have a player go off the ground for good due to injury then you receive a portion of an emergencies total score based on the percentage of the game missed by your player. A similar principle would apply to your Vice Captain if your Captain goes down...…..
Why not just use a portion of the Herald-Sun's 'predicted score' for the player, that they print in Gameday.

RE: …….Confused players will be temporary players,...…..
To simplify it for Supercoach coaches, instead of proportion, just base it on the first half of the game.
So if your player gets injured in the first half of the game, regardless if it's in the first minute of the first quarter, or the last minute in the second quarter, the player will get half of the 'predicted score' added to what ever they have scored in the first half. (The Capt's score will be doubled of course).
If the player is injured for good in the second half, then bad luck, the 'predicted score' is not added.

Not sure if you had already done it, but what would your estimation of Joey daniher's price be? Possibly gets a 10 or 20% discount due to playing just the 7 games

I also want to change prizes so as to be open to non residents... Or at least define the term.

I think Australian citizens no matter where they live (like Rowsus or myself) or non Australians living in Australia should cover it. :)
I can only imagine it's to do with being able to interview the winner in person and take some photos for marketing purposes or put them in a limo with some supermodels for an ad! :giggle:

Does anyone know why?

Sorry for the late reply mate

I have Daniher priced at $ 316,039.00 for 2019, and yes he should then receive a 10% discount on top of that.

If he is over his injury and has a solid pre-season he would certainly have to be looked at as a starting forward.

If we don't get the F/M dream list, Daniher, Greeene, Kennedy will have to come into serious considerations

Thanks mate.
Daniher around 300k could fall into stepping stone territory

no worries
yes I agree, Bombers should have a favourable draw and look like they are ready to explode. Can see Daniher as my starting F3.
looks like the Francis fan club is growing (cant see myself starting him) so quietly hoping Langford and Parish maintain their F/M status for 2019.

How about Darling? Not 1 but 2 injury affected scores of 14 and -1.

Has an adjusted average of just under 97 but will be priced at just under 85 ave. Only thought is may be a fit and firing JJK could affect his scores.
