I find this annoying Carlton and the Sun's were given pre-listed mature age selections seemingly to improve their playing list with immediate effect yet Carlton have now traded one of their picks (Nathan Kreuger) to Geelong for Pick 42.

Surely if they are given these concessions they should have to keep the player on their list.

Suspect they will pick McAdam and then use him as part of the McGovern deal.

So if the Giants bring the Mummy back from retirement anyone have any thoughts on how he would be priced?

Expect his price would be on his 2017 average, then if he gets a 30% or 40% discount.

EDIT: Mumford averaged 98.30 (20 games) in 2017 which was 3rd behind Kreuzer (109.81) & Ryder (103.05)

In 2016 he averaged 98.57 (21 games) which was 4th behind Gawn (118.45) , Goldstein (108.14) , Naitanui (105.93).

If they use his 2017 average he will be priced at approximately $ 546,398.39.

If they give him the full 30% discount he would be priced at $ 382,478.90 which maybe too generous for the organisers.

New ruck rule with ruckmen allowed to grab the ball out of the ruck contest without being penalised surely will mean that teams will be playing two ruckmen every week.

Backs are going to lose points with the 'not needing to kick to oneself' rule change?

Does this make Grundy even more of a lock than before?

We don't know, CD I feel adjusts the scoring system slightly every year, it's completely up to their discretion, one can only guess.

Personally I think they will lose points, as CD continues to push us towards more KPDs rather than the Lloyd/SImpson types

Thanks Herbie. Will be interesting to see what happens with rucks next year. $382k would be a price to consider him but as you say maybe it is just too generous.

With Preuss going to Melbourne, I am completely off Gawn now. Even if there is still a bit of uncertainty around what Preuss’ role will be, it’s enough to scare me off investing that amount of coin on Gawn.

Grundy however, is as good as locked now.

Yeah not sure. For DT, it’s obviously a positive if kick ins are now counted as a kick which they probably should but for SC I’m really not sure if there’d be. Struggling with that one actually.
