6 of the top 10 backing up a top 10 result would be historic for SC.

Not been done since Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Watson, Dangerfield, Selwood backed up 2012 in 2013.

That's not counting Dangerfield who seems likely to be in that 115-120 range too.

Which ones will drop out - who knows. It could even be a historic year. But certainly think statistically it's playing with fire to start 5 of the top 10 from the year before and just expect them to all go 115+.
Fantastic post and reminder

I don't think we've had the same amount of potential high scorers in years gone by but time will tell. A couple of them might not reach 115 but it's what I project at this stage.

I don't think it's playing with fire either if you're comfortable with the rest of your team, the idea is that those players also have a higher floor and you don't need to worry about getting the funds later to bring them in. It's actually safer if you are confident in picking the players elsewhere. But to your point I'm not advocating picking the most expensive mids whilst hurting your team elsewhere.

That's the changing of the guard feel about it I reckon. Names like Neale, Kelly, Oliver, Cripps, Macrae will see a few years inside the top 10 midfielders.

The changing of the ruck rules has played a part also in changes to the top 10 a little but those names above I think will be stalwarts for SC for years to come.

I find it very difficult to choose one of those 5 players and say that they won't average 110+ this year

hiding him in your midfield then ? ?
If for some reason I decided not to pick him in my forward line, there is no way I would put him in my midfield. There are a handful of players there capable of scoring as well as him who cost less. It’s only forward line or upgrade target (if I’m feeling game enough).

yes but can you guarantee to yourself who the Top 10 mids by season's end will be ? starting Danger as a mid gives you that "extra" spot to save for upgrade time when all the mid premium bolters expose themselves.

Had Celeb Daniel in my team from my first draft..... have seen enough in one quarter to put a lock on him. Will rack em up across the backline and I didn't expect kick ins so that is an absolute bonus

I doubt it .... but I really really want to o_O
my 1-0-7 defence almost worked last season , but had extra security with Sicily as a D/F

Danger in the mids adds security with Setterfield & Drew (also if you start a JJK/Greene/Daniher/Bailey/Moore etc)

Rankine , Rozee , Blakey
Burgess , Moore , Cavarra , Parker , Wilkinson

are there enough there ?

maybe 0-2/3-6/5 defence looks viable
