For the first half of the season I think Eagles, Freo and Bulldogs are good options.

Ridley is a better football from the limited games I've seen him play - he's a good user and looks all class and I would think Essendon will want to get games in to him. Just like the way he plays and more importantly he owes me for trading him in last season for 3 games!!!
Without wanting to engage in a shouting contest haha, I have heard that Redman is rated as highly, within the club, for his prospects in the half-back-flank role, as McGrath is in any position! Apparently he is BJ-esque... Only played two games last year, each in that position; got injured in the second game, but from memory he was one of the best afield in his game against the Lions.

He will be playing the VFL practice match this weekend, I think, as he rebuilds his fitness, along with Gleeson. One things for sure though, with those two plus Ridley, Essendon certainly have competition in the slighty-built-intercept-marking-half-back role!

Ridley has bulked up a bit, 7kgs in last year and stands 192cm at 91kg. Closer to KPD, similar to Hurley who can do both roles.

Redman 187cm at 87kg.

McGrath 178cm @ 83kg. Listed as a winger last year, assuming defensive winger.

No one wants. shouting match, would be good to hear any updated views you or others here. Currently in my side.

2019: AFL Fixture Analysis & Discussion (Strength of Fixture added)

The normal and polite thing to do when someone responds to your request with a definitive answer/link/direction is to acknowledge one's effort through either a reply, or at the very least a like. It's not that hard when one is on the site for multiple hours. Almost as easy as hitting the shift button for capital Letters.

The enjoyment our members experience here has been built on the respect we give too each other. There are many busy people here, business owners, high level executives, tradesman extraordinaire and university students, etc who willing give their time to respond in quality and quantity. A simple acknowledgement of a like or a response is all they need to give 10 times over.

ok there, just gave u like 30 likes on ur recent posts, you owe me 29 back now btw...never seen a mod get so offended because he didn't get a like lol. also u didn't even direct me to the right page lol, i was asking for rookies that played on sundays often and u just referred me to the general strength fixture. maybe double check next time, and ACTUALLY put in sometime before providing your 'definitive answer/link/direction"

this you? how many strikes are we running here?:eek:

I've put some of the averages of the relevant rookies over the last two years whose SC averages I had into a table. 2018 draftees are from the 2019 Prospectus, 2017 draftees are from here. SC averages of rookie draft selections weren't in the 2019 prospectus (I couldn't find them but let me know if they are somewhere).

I've put a * for Caldwell and Butters as the player description suggests they had an injury affected game in the U18C.
  • On Butters, he had a shoulder injury in the final game of the U18C, but played four games in total. Even if you assumed he had a 0 in the final game, the other 3 games would only give him like a 75 avg for the U18C.
  • Caldwell appears to have gotten injured in the first game, so had 32 from one game.
^ for Burgess as it referred to his "ranking points" in his description for his games as a KPD and KPF - not sure if "ranking points" meant SC.

Hopefully this helps somewhat with the final rookie selections, or with rookie downgrades! Rookies who played in JLT but were drafted before 2017, or were from rookie drafts (ie: Atkins) are not in this table as I didn't have their past averages.

Also tried to do a simple table with all players under $250k who played 2 games in the JLT and had greater than 50% TOG. Players with greater than 70% are highlighted in green (so I guess the rookies in white are the ones with questionable JS?). Rookies are sorted by SC per 80%TOG.

Are there any rookies who didn't play in JLT on anyone's radar?
I'm considering Corbett as a donut to play.
If I recall correctly Lewis Taylor, Dylan Shiel and Petrevski-Seton have been good rookies named rnd1 without any preseason games.

Bewley and Corbett would be the main ones I reckon!
Bewely is an interesting one, I'm thinking of starting him if not named Round1 because my gut feel is he forces his way in quickly by sheer weight of numbers. He was impressive in the few minutes he did play against Collingwood, will be keeping a close eye on him.
