Bewely is an interesting one, I'm thinking of starting him if not named Round1 because my gut feel is he forces his way in quickly by sheer weight of numbers. He was impressive in the few minutes he did play against Collingwood, will be keeping a close eye on him.
Don't forget Bewley for Ross!!!!!!!

We don’t want to miss obvious downgrade targets by jumping on non starters in our R1 team.

By picking them you are gambling these guys don’t come online right at the upgrade sweet spot.

Getting that second wave of rookies right is really important.

ok there, just gave u like 30 likes on ur recent posts, you owe me 29 back now btw...never seen a mod get so offended because he didn't get a like lol. also u didn't even direct me to the right page lol, i was asking for rookies that played on sundays often and u just referred me to the general strength fixture. maybe double check next time, and ACTUALLY put in sometime before providing your 'definitive answer/link/direction"

this you? how many strikes are we running here?:eek:
I don't think how many 'Likes' a Member gets is the important issue, it's more just a courteous way of showing appreciation that a Member has gone out of his way to help another Member. It doesn't matter if the information is correct or incorrect, the fact that a member has made an effort to help, that is important, and so acknowledging it is respectful.

Trouble is you may also miss them if they debut in the early rounds and your original cows haven’t moo’d but you’re right there’s always that risk along with potential injury that might not see them selected for a period of time. I’ve had that happpen before. Can’t remember who it was but I started a rookie defender once who I thought would play early rounds and he ended up with an LTI from training.

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick clears up one ongoing talking point about former Gold Coast co-captain http://m.afl.com.au/news/2019-03-17/theres-no-doubt-about-that-dimma-on-lynch-in-the-ruck

Pre-season cult hero Noah Balta is unlikely to compete alongside Lynch and Jack Riewoldt up forward,

I think this pretty much rules out Balta unfortunately, especially if Lynch doesn’t play round one.
This is good info to know now. Even if Lynch doesn’t play round 1, it sounds like if Balta did play then he would be straight out when Lynch returns.

Petruccelle v Parker. Who has the better JS I wonder?

$ 10 million investment with a stuffed knee and going to play 10% in the ruck.

Parker for sure. Think LITS was saying Cripps would replace Petruccelle.

I’ve got Burgess and Parker on the fwd bench for their JS. Drew is too good for the bench so I think it’s probably either an FD (or Corbett?) or Burgess on the bench for me.

Agree with Parker , if I was running with Moore F I like Burgess on the D bench (who have you on your Device bench ?)

If Smith/Clarke/Fort are named Rd 1 does Bines become a option at F8 or a F/M Floating Donut like Cameron , Clarke or Mosquito.

Slim F rookies with decent JS by the looks of things.

Yeah I have both Moore and Burgess up forward now. Defence is Collins, Scrimshaw, Clark, Duursma and Hore.

Burgess I'm not that against. I remember when M.Brown played at the Dons in 2016, he was a poor fwd rookie but then got thrown into defence and finally got a few spike scores. Might be a real slow burn but Burgess could be okay.

Burgess & Moore on the same line is not a bad idea either.

I am not convinced with Clark (so hopefully he doesn't get selected).

No idea what the Saints situation is now with Marsh & Rowe coming in late , suspect might take them a few weeks to get up to speed and with Brown suspended not sure if Joyce or Wilkie could be a slow burn on the defenders bench.

decisions , decisions

I'm happy enough with Clark. I think a few posts earlier on this thread has convinced me that he adds that more attacking element to the Cats defence that the other guys don't offer. If he gets dropped after a few games, so be it. But I'd rather start him and trade him out than have to reshuffle and fit him in in R2.

hahaha fair enough

I would rather do the opposite on him and a few others and wait until Rd 3 and see if they are still there or not.

End of the day we won't know , if they are named Round 1 we might not have much choice but to pick the ones selected.

You can’t start Drew in the mids?

Yeah, it's a possibility. I meant Drew is too good for the fwd bench, you'd want him on field somewhere. Even if he's in the mids, you'll still need Burgess/Parker or Petruccelle or Corbett on the fwd bench

Yeah for me it’s wherever the startable rookies are

So currently Moore F5, Setterfield F6
Drew on field in the mids
Collins plus 2 rookies on field in defence

Then Parker and Petrucelle on the forward bench. So I don’t feel I have to bench Drew.

But if the defence rookies don’t come up then Moore can switch back etc
