Rocky - been there before as an elite scorer
Sheed - announces himself last final series and continued in JLT and now season proper (contested numbers have exploded)
Worpel - clear role and only has to meet FWD keeper levels

Going to be hard to stop at 1 ! Oliver down to one of em and Walsh up to another perhaps ;)

The watch Brouch come out and smash 150 against Sydney whilst Sloane gets tagged ...
Exactly what I was thinking actually. Could possibly achieve it with Heeney down instead of Oliver. Decisions decisions...

My finger is hovering over Collins , no idea what happens to Joyce/Wilkie if Brown comes back in + Marsh & Rowe in the mix.

If Balta & Gibbons keep playing happy to ride them out , Burgess stays as long as I have Moore.

Shaw , Kennedy & Zac Attack are all fighting for the same points , although Essendon were woeful , Whitfield is better coming off HBF.

Heeney , Mundy & Darling are on notice.

And Walsh is currently my M10 , lot of $$$ if he scores 60-70's.

Interesting few days
Whats are your thoughts on Heeney. Seemed to have that bloody forward role again, but also looked like he knocked his head while landing after taking a screamer in the first. Not sure what to think really.

Honestly I'd be surprised if Boak didn't keep similar midfield minutes with Wines back, I'm an owner but that time in the forward line has seemingly refreshed Boak and they have 3 half-forwards playing Boak's old position (Rozee, Butters and Ebert).
So will Wines more likely impact Rocky's midfiled time?

Do you say that because you're worried about having enough rookies who will continue to play? Jordan Clark, Duursma, Hore, Scrimshaw, Joyce and Wilkie don't have enough job security you reckon? Same thing applies to the forward line as well, but it would be interesting to get your take.

I moved Naughton to Bonner last year so I want to make sure I don't make another pointless and wasteful trade again if I go Collins to Ridley as opposed to Collins to another rookie
Yeah pretty much. Collins and Burgess seem to have good JS but don't look to be on field options.

The others appear to have varying levels of JS and scoring ability so feels like 2 is the right amount to have back and forward. Purely speculation on my part though, most here would have a better idea than me :)

For those wanting Fyfe game 1 hasn't told us anything we didn't know. He can have a big score or get injured. I think you just have to let him go. But otherwise I think corrective trades after round 1 and 2 are very beneficial. The winner a couple of years ago started with 4 failed mid pricers and traded them to 4 successful mid pricers. We have so much more information now with a players role or a teams game plan. I would rather trade now and hold after rounds 3 and 4 if possible while prices go up and down.

North Melb.
It's reckless, but makes my side look a whole lot better (I just should've started this way tbh - the signs were there that Collins might get stuck in lock down mode but I thought he would at least score ok vs St Kilda of all teams).

Oliver, Collins -> Rockliff, Harris Andrews

And when Wines comes back, trade Rockliff back to Oliver, cos their prices will be the same

Didn't see the Swans game at all , just read some comments on here and other forums about him playing the F role , that and Mundy maybe looking too "slow" with Freos new game plan + a injury scare to Darling

Really liked Worpel's game , if he backs up going to be hard to ignore given his price and role.

I just don't understand people trading out a premium after 1 bad week of scoring, with the amount of "homework" everyone has done on the off season surely we have to give them another go and then revisit.... Obviously if there is an injury that's a different story, can argue role change as well....

Looking at people trading out Oliver for example, Melb had a terrible game which reflected in the SC scoring, who knows, next week he could pump out a monster?! To be honest as someone who didn't start Oliver i'd be looking to get him in! Last year I wish I had not used these "luxury trades" as was kicking myself for having none left by round 20 or so, this year will try to resist hitting the T button....

If a trade is valued at 150 points, then you would need at least 7.2 ppg over 21 games for a sideways trade on a premium just to break even.

Need to trust our premiums if they are not injured.

On the rookie front, I think might be ok to act early on Collins because there does not appear to be any reliability for onfield scoring purposes despite his higher rookie pricetag. Will sit on Gibbons and Balta for another round, given they are bargain-priced...they just need one good game for a salary spike.

Some people rate trades as equal to 200 points. Either way, trades in the first 4-6 Rounds need to be rated higher in value, say 250, than trades used for example, after the byes. They can be called a success if they produce around +/-130.

Also considering getting rid of Heeney. Would never usually clear out a premo after round one, as you did your pre-season research for a reason! But in this case I put Heeney in last-minute after avoiding him for months, no research at all! After being bullish on Worpel for so long... I should've stuck with my guns.

I think someone out of Darragh Joyce, McKay or Wilkie could turn out be to be alright by the end of next week and should have job security and score in the 50's. Joyce would have scored about 90 if he didn't have 6 free kicks against. He played on Burgess, which made life easy I'd think, but that's still a decent effort. That way I'll have about 100k to help me get to Macrae asap rather than just the 3k.

I'm just not sold on Ridley as a mid-pricer and he's hard to separate from the Bonner pick last year. I originally threw the Moore idea out because I thought he'd only out average Collins by about 10-15 but was an injury risk. I might still go for him and things will be clearer next week, if he gets a 90 and the other key defenders score under 50 I think it's a pretty easy decision.

I won't be making any trades this week and I'll see if Collins miraculously gets a role change because I'm not sure he can even play the total lock down job that well.

Only considering B.Smith up to Newman this week and only if I feel that Newman is a keeper.

JRoo will come good, I know this, but I already knew that his 2nd half of the year would be the better one. If he looks tired and unsettled again next week I may consider a sideways trade if I can identify a must have forward or Worpel/Fisher.

Heeny to Worpel - or is this just a panic trade?
Heeney is fine. Horse had him sitting forward for 2 whole quarters while they were getting smashed in the clearances.
Heeney looked good as soon as that dolt put him back on ball lol.

On a side note, when is Horse going to realise that Heeney and Parker are his best 2 midfielders now that JPK has dropped off and stop playing them forward so much, it's mind boggling.

But isn't this the problem? The fact that the dolt is in charge and seems to have an irrational hatred of Supercoaches

I wasn't actually talking from a super coach perspective. I am talking about it from a guy watching the games perspective.
They were getting butchered in the middle and Heeney was just sitting up forward. I think the time is now to get Parker, Heeney and Mills working in together full time, slash JPK's time and let him sit forward more. Parker also rotates a bit to much forward for my liking.

Sure, it's ok to rest your mids forward but for God's sake, get your best/future midfield line up in their gelling.
