I got both. Would have kept Balta if he played this week to see what he can do but js looks really crap when he not even kept in with other tall like Rance out.
Much happier to see what Collins can do with a 2nd game. I think he has good upside to score if they do not turn him only into lock down defender. Hope Saints bring in another tall down there like Marsh or Rowe asap to free him up to take more intercept marks which is his scoring path.
Regardless of the fact that Collins is a Sun.

Don't know where Marsh is at fitness wise but Rowe was training at East Doncaster (I Think) or some other suburban team and would probably need about six to eight weeks of solid preparation to be ready to play a game at AFL level.

Marsh was training with Richmond's VFL side

Was at the Saints Gold Coast game and my concern with Collins is that he played a lock down role on Membery. I hope he plays again this week so I can reassess his role. Otherwise he will be traded into Wilkie or Joyce come round 3.

With no real good forward rookies to choose from happy to keep Balta on the bench at this stage.
Yep, agree. Happy to trade after two games rather than one though ;)

Probably, but we are talking Saints. They will get desperate real soon to bring in Marsh or Rowe at even the hint of them looking close to some type of fitness. Not sure whom they had down there last week. Wilkie looks undersized, some Irish guy Joyce, bit the same. Maybe Brown is closer to coming in than either of Marsh or Rowe. Anyway, as it turns out, does not effect my Supercoach team as my challenge is with Collins, not Wilkie. I did not start Wilkie.

Ha ha. That is funny. I know he is at Suns but for some reason in small portal of my mind, he temporarily became a Saint. ha ha. Throw out everything I said. With Rory Thompson gone for a long time, not sure he can be saved from the dreaded lock down role. Now might talk myself out of keeping him again.. damn, mental merry go round
too funny Oz

just focus on the sculpture

From the St Kilda website:

Leading the pack for a call-up is surely veteran full-back Nathan Brown.

The 30-year-old has attacked the pre-season with an intensity that belies his age, recording multiple PBs and leaving no stone unturned in his preparation.

An omission in Round 1 only due to serving a suspension, the biggest question remains: who will make way?

Yeah, so should not be far away. Would not be surprised if he picked this week or next.
suspect they would give him a 3-4 mini pre season , interesting if Brown comes straight back in for Joyce or Wilkie then Marsh & Rowe in the mix as well.

Just putting finishing touches to it this weekend. Trucks will deliver it to G by end of April to be erected.
I hope he shows a lot more in April than he has in March.

Didn't do anything to blow me away and think WOW , will have another look at him against Port.

Cavarra, Stengle and Corbett are three that come to mind who could play early and possibly score better than Burgess/Petrucelle/Schultz.
Definitely correct here mate, McHenry too. Probably better if they take a little bit longer before coming into their sides.

It’s definitely a gamble, but I’m very bullish on Newman and love that this double move sures up my bench by bringing a little extra value into the fold.
For my trades to come off I need Newman to be a premium defender, and Rockliff to score somewhere close to Oliver. Both outcomes are possible, but I also recognise it’s a big ask.

I made some big moves early on last year which came off so maybe I’ve got a bit of a false sense of security about them.

I’m a lot more bullish on Newman than most, I just think he plays such an SC friendly game. Takes a lot of marks and looks to kick a every opportunity. Newman putting up a 90+ season feels a lot more likely than Rockliff putting up consultant uber-premium numbers.

Keen to hear what moves you’re potentially eyeing off next week?
I have no options that I like but it would basically be my worst mid premo (Dusty?) down to the best available mid rookie (Butters?) and my worst def rookie (Collins) up to Harris Andrews (or Sicily or someone).

It's only something I'd consider if it looks like all of Walsh, Constable and Scott are solid 70+ players and I'm looking at 40s and 50s at D6 (currently relying on three on-field DEF rookies, including Collins).

Another break-glass option might be something like Cripps down to Sheed and Collins up to Andrews. (Already have Rocky). If Sheed looks like just continuing to belt out 130s I may have to give it some thought, but it certainly looks pretty ugly written down.

More likely I just trade Collins to Duursma or Harry Taylor.

Is it worth doing Collins (D3) to Moore leaving me with almost no cash or should I just hold another week and decide then? No other real issues with the team other than low premium scores

Apologies to the people bringing in Rocky this week, but I'll be cheering against him hard.. especially to the people trading B.Crouch for him..
Would be great to see Rocky in a lockdown role. :p

Just the one Rookie correction for me - so I can maybe do some serious corrections next week if I get duds again. Looking at you spuds in the ruck!

Yeah, fair call. I'm keeping my eye on it - another stinker from Williams and he might dominate conversation next week.
I don't think it was a putrid score, but you'd think with the way the opposition played he should have got a bit more of it.
