I don't think it was a putrid score, but you'd think with the way the opposition played he should have got a bit more of it.
watching the game (because I have Shaw & Kennedy ) , I think Essendon went inside F50 3 times for 2 goals in the 2nd quarter , pretty hard to score points when the ball is not in the area.

Although Davis & Taylor did both score 100+

Other than those stats you mentioned, there wasn't much action down there except mopping up and rebounding. Someone's got to miss out I suppose.

yeah that has got me worried with Shaw , Kennedy , Williams & Whitfield all playing down there together + Haynes to come back in.

be curious to see against the Eagles

Heater was even in the F50 3 times and had a shot at goal.

Apparently Jay Lockhart (102k d/m) is getting a game on the weekend for Melbourne. I saw him in a vfl match last year and he looked like a decent player. I might have to think about what to do with Miers, Balta, Collins and Hanley for a bit longer.

No Scott?
Thinking very long and hard about a pretty risky round 1 double trade re-structure.

Oliver-Rocky
Collins-Newman

Was super bullish on Newman pre-season but he didn't make my final side. My backline is currently Whitfield, Williams and rookies which feels too light on IMO.

Oliver is still a fantastic SC asset. I'm fully aware of this but bringing in a fit, 400k Rockliff is very tempting. If he can go somewhere close to matching Oliver then the trade will be a huge win as I've banked 220k.

Risky as hell, but you don't get anywhere in this game without taking some punts.

Leaves me with the below and 17k to likely chase Scott:

Whitfield, Williams, Newman, Clark, Scrimshaw, Duursma (Hore, Burgess)
Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Mouch, Dusty, Rocky, Walsh, Butters (Constable, Atkins, Gibbons)
Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
Danger, Heeney, Billings, Moore, Setterfield, Drew (Parker, Petrucelle)
Scott could be too good a rookie to miss out on..

But i really like your 2 planned trades, winning!

Nearly every player would be suffering from general soreness after the first game of the season...
Curious why Greene is rumoured to be unavailable in round 2 for this reason?
Mate, ditch him. Only played part of 1 game in JLT 2 and only played 33% tog according to FanFooty.
Has said himself that this year i quote, ''I have had an 8 week preseason compared to last years 2''
He is underdone, an injury and suspension risk and with a fully fit best case scenario of a 90-95 ave, that won't happen. There are blinking red lights everywhere imo. If i had him, i would be ditching him asap. Best of luck whichever way you go.

Hard to read GWS after that game, but Heater often drifts down forward.

Iv pulled the trigger on 2 trades.
B.Smith >Newman
JRoo>Rocky via Setterfield fwd.

Means Setterfield on field in stead of on the Bench.
Constable on the bench now.
100k in the bank.
If Constable out scores Setterfield by more than 20 points over the journey and Rocky only ends up out scoring JRoo by 20 points (in the first half of the year) it won't have been a very affective trade. Fairly confident this is a good move.

This is a recipe for disaster. Would not be surprised one bit that
Smith and Jroo score 200 combined
V
150 for Rocky and Newman.

Ask yourself, why didn’t I start with Newman and Rocky ?

Ridley out. Feel like I have to go early on Wilkie now with Collins in my team too.

Because like many players, I didn't know how they would go..
They go well as it turns out.

I picked B.Smith as a stepping stone/stop gap filler for 330k anyway.
JRoo i picked, well because i didn't know who i wanted at F4 lol. I was never solid in my thinking on either of those two, flawed planning i know.

Is 1 one round enough to bring in Rocky and Newman.

I would urge you to wait a week, unless you will desperately need the trades next week.

Balta -> Parker... Fix the last minute decision last week to play Balta instead of Parker. 1 trade wasted :(

Greene -> Worpel… Seems like a no brainer.

Should I trade Balta to Parker this week? Thinking Balta and Collins to Parker and Duursma so that I can potentially jump on Newman/rocky/another rookie that’s looking good

My team is travelling pretty well besides Balta, may need the one trade next week. I just can't see Smith being a keeper and JRoo looked so tired which makes sense with him just having a baby. I see these 2 trades as correction trades for 2 poor choices in my starting team.

You may well be right and ideally another week is always great to have another look but i am backing my instincts in here.

Thank you very much for your input, as that is what i absolutely love about this forum! Hope you have a great weekend score yourself mate and if Wines comes in next week and Rocky spuds it or gets injured, Newman hangs around the back pocket picking his nose and chatting with the crowd, i'll be able to have a beer, log on here and cry on your shoulder lmao. :)
