Strategy Round 5: Trades

O'Brien (Ruc), must (Jacobs got knee surgery and is out for 4-6); Stack (M), maybe; Hore (D) maybe (yes, it's been a long few weeks).
T Kelly no long-term concern - hurt ankle at end of RD3 game and either that or De Boer attention (or some other more ephemeral malaise) caused him to have a shocker last week.
There are articles about Heeney being in doubt after getting a knock to the hip late in the game last week, but I for one think it's a bit of bs and he'll be fine to play. Some may disagree.
Setterfield suspended for 2 weeks. Parker hurt ankle last week and is in doubt. Some are saying Drew might be dropped but seems a bit weird to me. Balta always on the edge of being dropped. That's the reason for donut concern in forward line.

I think that makes sense. Scott was listed as rested last week which indicates that they like him and intend to play him. He also played one week with an illness of some sort so I think his scoring capacity/JS may be slightly underestimated of that is not front of mind (although I’m not expecting round one scores!). If he misses this week then it’s very difficult to argue that my interpretation is correct, in which case a reassessment is probably warranted.

2 trades used so far.
If Butters is dropped I'm pretty certain on bringing in Stack - 140 from the trade, giving me 243k.
Here's where I'm unsure.
I can either use my second trade to do Setterfield to Marshall, leaving me with 30k in the bank.
This would give me the ability to move a forward rookie off-field, looking like:
Drew (Parker, Balta)
Or, I could go Setterfield to O'Brien via Bines and giving me 300k for next week, looking like:
Parker, Drew (Bines, Balta)
If it's relevant, I'm going for overall and currently ranked 38k.
This is a big conundrum... so would love some guidance one way or another!

ROB is a must imo. If you look at the worst case FOMO scenarios, Marshall continues average 100, he probably gets to around $500k-$510, still gettable. ROB continues to average 85, he makes ~$300k!
Marshall will have a down game against Gawn this week anyway and might still be around $430-440k next week, if you're confident he's going to average 100, still gettable.

I think Marshall needs to be a good keeper for it to even be close. Personally I think the odds of that are very low, but you’ll have a view on that, and I think it’s the crux of the question.
I haven’t checked forecast pricing but other forwards could be getting cheap. If we get a second wave of rookies mid year then ROB’s cash is less important, but having a weak keeper could be an even bigger drag than normal.

Don't quite agree with this.
I think it's too late to be waiting til after mid season to fully upgrade your side, if you're gunning for a good overall score. Fast cash generation is key to quick upgrades and getting rookies off the field asap. ROB definitely necessary to achieve that purpose. We're already seeing the fwd rookies really struggle, not sure how much longer the mid rookies can last too (Butters dropped a shocker, Constable had a down game). Cash is needed sooner rather than later to afford those top bracket guys like Lloyd, Macrae, Neale prior to the byes as well.
All in all, ROB is a must in my books. I'd try to find a way to fit him in, wouldn't eat a donut to get him but I'd risk an iffy fwd bench to fit him in. (I will have Parker/Bines myself).
