Could there be any benefit in doubling down this week? I could trade Bateman and Aubusson to Young and Herbert leaving a bank of $570k for a couple more upgrades before Round 12. Would leave me with the following team (highlighted for how Round 12 is currently looking)

I quite like the move. Allows you to potentially get both Taumalolo and R Martin next week possibly with still half of that 570,000 left which could allow CHT to be turned into K Ponga. If Herbert gains the goal kicking duties and Young is Bateman's replacement and continues his recent form then both should be great cash generators.

Would like to know anyone's thoughts on which origin players we should be trading out over the origin period. I have about 9 in my team at the moment so I don't look particularly good for any of the byes unless I start moving some of these players out.

Dependent on cover or lack of, how efficiently funds are used to compensate for their absence, trades left and potentially orchestrating plans to bring them back.

Assuming Cook plays Origin he could potentially be traded out to free up funds as he is one of the most expensive players in the game which should allow other players/lines to be upgraded but then you need a plan to bring him back in.

With a lack of top options in FB,5/8 and HFB I wouldn't bother trading out any of the guns but 2RF, HOK, FR and CTW should have sufficient options whether premium or rookie.

Think I've settled on trades for this round with Fergo and R Martin in for J Bateman and C Allan and unfortunately will be bypassing P Herbert.

Need help on selecting my 17th player this round as 1-16 is C Smith, A Fifita, M Taupau, A Tolman, J Trbojevic, J Arrow, R Martin, C Murray, N Cleary, K Ponga, C Gutherson, E Marsters, B Ferguson, B Nikora, J Tedesco and C Nicoll-Klokstad.

17th spot is between M Sivo, J Okunbor, M Morgan, P Haas, S Lane and C Waddell. Leaning towards playing either M Sivo or M Morgan at 17 but would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Also @IDIG, @Diabolical and @Herbie66 should I continue my trend of selecting a different captain each round

I’m a big believer in having fun ... therefore keep selecting someone different! Maybe Smith or Tedesco in what should be easy wins.

My only request is that you warn the rest of us who you have selected prior to the round starting

Thanks. Linked you, Herbie and Diabolical as we are all the newcomers to the sport/format and was wondering if for fun I should try and continue the trend for the majority of the season.

Will have to remember before Friday night to notify everyone of my choice so they can avoid it or I keep it all to myself and revel in our combined disappointment .

Other trade ins I'm looking at include Croker and Mitchell. I would rather wait another 2 weeks to bring in Croker after he plays against Roosters and Bunnies and I feel that it's not worth bringing in Mitchell so close to origin time. If I don't bring in one of these guns, my CTW will be left a little lackluster, but I should be able to get by.

Next weeks trades are going to be CHT to Dearden and Burr/Arrow/Matterson to Taumalolo next week.

Not too keen on Marsters because he doesn't play round 12 and he's got a bit of a tough run facing the Storm, Rabbitohs, Raiders and Roosters again all in the next 9 rounds but he's definitely one that I will be bringing in for the run home. As for Fergo, I do like him as he is base price right now but I think he has a good shot at making the origin side so not sure if I want to bring him in.

So just go the double down? Making those trades gives me $548k ITB.

Or J Bateman to Ferguson and Flegler to Young this week possibly allowing Waddell to Taumalolo next round.

I’d go with this one IDIG. One up one down both weeks will give you better value for points. Don’t really rate aekins that highly.

I think you should continue what you are doing and see how many different captains you can get for the whole season.

Think the only captains I've nailed is S Lane in RD2 and K Ponga in RD6 (only 2 over 60) and has been difficult in comparison to the other formats.

If I don't select Ponga again as C this week then I'll likely give C Smith, J Tedesco and R Martin/N Cleary a chance before Taumalolo in RD12 and then discontinue the singular captain process.
