Cheers guys. Martin in it is. $146k ITB for next week.

Think i'll go Cook (C) who looks my safest option this week....famous last words.
Noticed that R Martin is affectionately known as God 2.0 so hopefully he lives up to his lofty status and isn't relegated to the bench/reserves again. Also receives goal kicking duties at the Dogs which helps his base and posts a career conversion rate of 88.46%.

In his NRL career of 20 games he has only scored below 45 twice (with both matches injured/coming off the bench)

Just read on another site that Martin may actually miss the game this weekend. All just rumours and nothing confirmed, but maybe hold off on making the trade as late as you can just to be safe.

Thx mate. I generally just lock my trades in early because it’s hard for me to track ins and outs over the weekend so bringing in Latrell Mitchell instead who I’ve been keen on for a while now.

Thoughts on who to start out of Okunbor, Waddell or Haas?

Same rumour also has K Holland missing which leaves the Dogs without their 1st or 2nd choice kicker which is hard to fathom and due to a lack of a source displays little to no credibility.

Edit: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...t/news-story/a5332f882f700cc758d133decc2e4a7f

Canterbury coach Dean Pay has swung the axe and dropped three players as he desperately tries to turn the club’s on-field form around.
Foxsports.com.au understands halfback Lachlan Lewis, centre Kerrod Holland, and backrower Rhyse Martin have all been dumped for Saturday’s Round 9 clash with Newcastle.

Holland has travelled with the team to Brisbane but will take no part in Magic Round.

In a huge blow to the team, Corey Harawira-Naera was set to replace Holland at centre but he has withdrawn from the game due to a family illness.

It means Kieran Foran will make his return from injury to partner Jack Cogger in the halves, Marcelo Montoya will be added to the backline, and Chris Smith also gets promoted. Ofahiki Ogden is also expected to be called on, meaning the Bulldogs will use all four of their reserve players.

Canterbury sit bottom of the NRL ladder with two wins from six games and they’ve conceded the third most points in the competition.

Foxsports.com.au understands the axings are a result of that poor defence, and Pay has sounded a warning to the playing group to shape up.

It was earlier reported Lewis had remained in Sydney due to the impending birth of his first child, but the baby isn’t due until next week and he was told by Pay he wasn’t in the team.

It’s the second time this season Pay has swung the axe and made mass changes. He did it after two big losses to start the year.

I'd be starting Haas, he's looked great and I'll be starting him in my 17 this week as well.

Dean Pay has lost his mind, I'm hoping they get thrashed so Martin comes back in. Ponga looking like a good captaincy option now as well

Changed my selection of R Martin to S Burgess replacing C Allan. K Ponga is very appealing and will likely C him over N Cleary/C Smith.

Also who would you recommend playing for the 17th spot.
S Lane VS P Haas VS M Morgan VS M Sivo VS J Okunbor.

Not too keen on Lane or Sivo against the storm, however can still see Sivo going over the line once or twice but he's a risky option this week. Morgan just hasn't shown anything recently but I think the inclusion of Taumalolo and Feldt will help him, as well as the fact that he seems to score much better against the top 8 sides compared to the bottom 8, as he has scored over 60 against the Dragons, Sharks, Raiders, and Storm (59 but close enough), but he's a bit too inconsistent for my liking. I would play him in the halves spot as there aren't too many better options but I'm not sure I would want to play him as a reserve. I think the dogs will struggle this week so I don't think I would go Okunbor. Haas is a very solid option and you can play him comfortably. Bit of a long way to say Haas but just wanted to give my thoughts on each player.

Thanks. Down to Morgan and Haas now. Was hesitant on Sivo as that would be him, Gutho and new recruit Ferguson all on against the Storm.

If any three Eels players were going to do well against the storm it would be gutho, fergo and sivo so there is still hope

J Trbojevic:
Last season, these two teams played twice and Jurbo recorded 114 and 93 point respectively. Better yet, both of the games were at Suncorp, since Manly have made a habit of taking their home fixture there. The Broncos are only allowing a middling 52.75 points to Locks this season, however they have played Finucane, McGuire, Lawrie, Liu, Aloai and Ryan Sutton. Not overly renowned scorers. And only Lawrie and Liu have failed to crack 50.

K Ponga:
But, this year he has scored under 80 points just once since his permanent move back to fullback and that was a 64. The kid is on fire and I, for one, can’t wait to see what he can do to a depleted Dogs team, who let RTS and Gutho score 90+ on them earlier this season.

Not having much luck with injuries/selection.

DCE, Leilua, Bateman, CHT

Not sure what the hell to do with so many holes.

Putting the VC on Fifita tonight and see what score that brings. If he goes huge and Xerri scores well I might just leave the halves for another week and NPR that position. Got plenty of options, which actually makes the decisions harder.

What does the rest of your team look like if you are after any recommendations or trade suggestions?

Smith (Rein)
Fifita, Paulo (Haas, Tatola)
Arrow, JPap, Lane (Murray, Waddell, Flegler)
DCE (CHT)
Ponga (Morgan)
Bateman, Nikora, Capewell, Okunbor (Leilua, Burns, Xerri)
Tedesco (CNK)

Bank: $256,600

Aekins and Walker has been one thought, though if Walker gets an Origin gig that is mostly pointless.

Don't think you should trade Marsters in round 11 because it is the week before his bye
