Would you still rate Answerth at #1 given that Zac Bailey is set to return in the next couple of weeks?

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I recall coaches were quite high on him for his run and carry out of the back half before he pinged a hammy in round 3, so there might be a chance he comes straight back in when fit and pushes Answerth out?
I think I read that Zac Bailey is pushing for selection this week. If Answerth gets dropped this round or the next for Bailey, he's obviously no good as a selection. But provided he does get selected for his third game off the bubble, I think you just have to take him given that he's a DEF/MID and we don't really have many good DEF downgrades to come. It's mainly that factor that has him as No.1 and as an absolute must have next round (if selected for the third game off the bubble).

Hopefully for complete comfort, Answerth is named alongside Andrews and Bailey next round when he comes off the bubble.

I'll be all over him like the proverbial flies if that is the case, given that I whiffed on Hore > Ridley roughly 10 minutes before the start of round 1 and then again when he (Hore) was on the bubble after I traded out Ridley early.

(and that was after me talking him up for most of last year saying he was ready for AFL football and we should draft him too... :cautious:)

Strongly considering Ross over Hayes.

Hayes JS is shaky at best where Ross’ is rock solid (next 4-5 weeks at least).Ross also has much better scoring potential and could be useful for the byes.

Anyone have any thoughts on the rookies that played over the last two rounds? Mainly Larkey, Corbett, DMoore, Joyce and also first gamers like Kielty and Stocker?

Wasn’t able to catch any footy over the weekend due to travelling! Can post prospectus writeups later on.

My thoughts:

Larkey: Medium JS and medium scoring potential
Corbett: Good JS and poor scoring potential
D Moore: Poor JS and medium scoring potential
Joyce: Poor JS and medium scoring potential
Keilty: Poor JS and poor scoring potential
Stocker: Poor JS and medium scoring potential

So I don’t like any of the options tbh!

Thanks! Nice rating system!

Looks like Larkey/Corbett are really the only names to consider. Pity Stocker/Keilty were so poor, was hoping they might become options.

Hind might be a chance with Webster possibly out with a broken hand.

Cunningham from Syd out for 4-6 weeks so not sure if there’s a decent sydney rookie who might present (Rowbottom/McInerney possibly but both not that promising either).

I honestly think the Hawks are going to struggle this year, fairly sure Clarkson knows it too. They need to get games into their younger players at some stage (they apparently had the oldest on field team in R7), guessing that Moore would be one of the first of the younger ones in line. He could be worth a punt, I'm considering it, but I have little to lose on riskier picks like that.

A little more on Patrick Naish from VFL coach:

23 disposals, five clearances, eight inside-50s & one goal
“Played predominantly through the wing and continued his great form. He ended up with 23 disposals, but the pleasing part of it is his 10 contested possessions and he’s just playing great footy. He’s setting us up with inside-50s and clearances.”

Dylan Moore, $123k fwd rookie on the bubble this week, thoughts? I haven’t heard much about him but I’m looking at a double downgrade this week.

Not a bad option but don’t like their next 5 weeks for a small forward:

Thanks guys I think I’ll pull the trigger anyway, with Constable out I can create a dpp link by moving Setterfield to the mids and also pocket neatly $200k. Also surely he’s not going to be any worse than Setterfield or Balta.
