To add to my previous question I'm planning on trading pendles in for mundy sat morning. T.mitchell is my emg. He scores 100. What do I do? Or do I need him to get at least 130 to put off pendles for a week?

Adelaide certainly could have made the decision easier for you, and left Crouch out!
I certainly wouldn't bank 100 in front of getting Pendlebury, 130 and I'd probably do it.
This assumes that cash isn't a problem, and you're not worried that if you put Pendlebury off for a week, that he might jump up $25k next week. His B/E is only 93, so if he scores 150 he goes up $25k. If the thought of a potential price rise means you mightn't get him, then jump on this week.
Given Collingwood play Port, I think 130 is a fair cut off line.
Good luck. :)

This thread reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer and Apu go to India to talk to the Kwiki Mart guru...they had to fly a long way, climb a mountain and only got three questions.

For some reason I picture Jay wanting to ask Rowsus about a particular POD, I am just there for the ride.

Me to Jay while on the plane: "Are we in Denmark yet?"
Jay: "No"
Me: "Are we in Denmark yet?"
Jay: "No"
Me: "Are we in Denmark yet?"
Jay: "NO!...wait...yes"

We find Guru Rowsus on a large rock in Copenhagen harbour, surrounded by seaweed ovals, shells named as AFL players, a laptop and pages torn from Hans Christian Anderson novels.

Jay goes to open his mouth, but I say something first.
Me to Rowsus: "Are you really the SC stats guru?"
Rowsus: "Yes"
Me: "Really?"
Rowus: "Yes"
Me: "Really??"
Rowsus: "Yes. Thank you, come again!"

We go home. Once in Australia, Jay emails Rowsus his question, and I tell everyone I have seen Copenhagen harbour.

The End.

Great thread idea and thanks rowsus for already being so generous with your knowledge and time.

Interested to hear your thoughts on nicnat and in particular for someone like me, who like you, is looking to make up as much ground as possible overall by generally trading in PODs. Noting I traded on Heppell this week and will grab pendles if the moons align which after reading your previous post is looking more and more unlikely.

Nicnat (owned by 55k) scored 73 this week so should drop a fair bit over the next few weeks although hes more than capable of changing that with one monster. Currently 588k, could potentially drop to $530 (?) with another low score all of a sudden becomes in reach for me. Jacobs would be my man to move on though who I've held onto with the belief he'll come good.

My question, what do you think they need to average to make this is a worthwhile trade? Noting I have 3 lol trades left but willing to take the risk for the right gain. I would only need to use one trade leaving myself with 2 for lti :D

Gold PC, pure gold! I literally laughed out loud.
I wonder if that rock I'm sitting on is located near the rock The Little Mermaid sits on in the harbour?

Duffield vs Hanley? Is getting them 20k cheaper worth a possible donut with vlastuin. They would be replacing birchall who I was going to trade next week.

Yeah pondering the same thing, the most annoying thing is that Vlastuin plays in the last game of the round so a late out is extremely difficult to cover, especially when Webster is my bench player in DEF.

The formula for calculating price change is: (score - B/E) x $440.
Given a players price, and his B/E, have fractions that aren't displayed, any price calculation need to be done with a rider of +/-$300 on the end.
Hanley 40 - price next week $395,100 +/-$300
Hanley 60 - price next week $403,900 +/-$300
Hanley 80 - price next week $412,700 +/-$300
Hanley 100 - price next week $421,500 +/-$300
Hanley 120 - price next week $430,300 +/-$300
As to jumping on Clisby a week early, that is something I would never advise. It worked well for the Coaches that jumped on Mitchell and Nicholls a week early, but in general there are more tears than cheers when you do it.
^^^^ Is a copy of what Rowsus posted in response to my question in what Hanley's price would be for different scores, how much do we reckon Vlastuin will drop if he plays??

Firstly on NicNat. His price next week will be $561,900 +/-$300 and his B/E around 157.
If he can manage 110 the week after that, we're looking at around $541,200 and B/E 149.
A further 110 the week after that, and he levels out to $524,000 and B/E 102.
But as you mentioned, he's capable of landing a monster next week, and virtually "erasing" that 73 from his pricing pattern.

Secondly, looking at your team, I think your biggest area of concern is still your Def line. You are currently running Goodes D6 and Thurlow D7. That's very shakey, and little to no back up. Your other 3 lines need 2 or 3 to go down for you to get a donut, your Def line is hanging by the Thurlow JS single cotton thread. It's like the sword of Damacles, it's not if that thread will break, but when!
Let's look at it this way, if Thurlow disappears, you have no cover at all. It really seems like a case of when, not if, for Thurlow not getting a regular game. The problem with the approach of "But if I get Pendles and or NicNat, I still have a trade for coverage" is that coverage has no coverage. Sounds long and convoluted. Look at the scenario, that in the next week or two Thurlow stops getting a game (fair chance), and one of your 6 Defs gets an LTI. You use a trade to replace him, but you still have no cover! You have to hope your Def line coasts through 8 weeks with no Restings, suspensions or injuries! It's not a wildly inconceivable prospect.
Nine or Ten rounds is a long way to coast with 2 trades, and a line with little or no cover. It's a huge difference to what Chewy and Jay did, coasting the last 4 or 5 weeks with 1 or no trades, as they had good cover, or in Chewy's case, amazing cover in that last week!
Using SC Gold as a guide, let's compare your scenarios. I know SC gold is notoriously inaccurate, but at least it's a non-biased scale to measure things on.
Dal Santo > Pendlebury for the last 9 weeks - Dal 891, Pendlebury 1141, profit 250 points
Jacobs > NicNat for the last 9 weeks - Jacobs 692, NicNat 1100, profit 408 points
Long term injury to one of your 6 Defs - yours average 99.46 - 5 weeks of pain outscore NicNats gain!
I'm not sure what the easy answer is, though. Is it LOL Richo > Xavier Richards? This gives you a link to Staker and creates a FD loop between your Def and Fwd line. Richards is actually close to getting a run, if you guage his listing as an emergency a few times as a guide.
In the scenario where you get NicNat, AND Richards, you have 1 trade left for LTI's in the last 8 weeks. It's a long way to coast, but it looks safe than coasting 9 weeks with no Def cover.
Running the risk of no cover is a dangerous game, but taking risks is usually what making gains is all about. Your NicNat upgrade out trumps your Pendlebury upgrade (on SC Gold figures), and actually looks like a winner. Just keep an eye on your Def cover. You can very quickly cause more damage with no cover, than any upgrade will ever compensate.
Good luck :)

Duffield vs Hanley? Is getting them 20k cheaper worth a possible donut with vlastuin. They would be replacing birchall who I was going to trade next week.
The actual worst scenario might be that Vlastuin plays, gets subbed with a 20 or 30, and loses more money than Duffield's or Hanley's price drops.
Let's assume Vlastuin plays. He's looking a little tired and restricted now, compared to his great form a few weeks ago. If he is tired, and carrying a niggle, he might only get a 60 or 70. This would see his price drop about $30k (is the close enough, Goodies, or would you like a break up like Hanley's?). Hanley may not score much more than 70 this week, as he has struggled a little against the good sides. Duffield too, may not score a whole lot more, depending on what role he is given this week.
If your plan going forward is to hope Thurlow gets dropped, so you can loophole Terlich and Vlastuin in D6 some/most weeks, then I think I'd assume Vlastuin misses this week, or plays some sort of restricted role. In that case I would bring in Hanley (Hanley is my preference over Duffield, due to Brisbanes draw) for Birchall this week. I will add one rider to that. The decision hinges largely on what your trading plans, and cash going forward are. For example, you might have been looking to upgrade Mundy to Swan/Pendlebury, and moving this week costs you the cash you need to do that. In that case, cop the donut this week, save the money next week, and get your Pendlebury upgrade.
Good luck :)

In order: Jay, Pendles, Gaj.
Jay and I would have a lot of fun, I reckon.
Pendlebury, for no particular reason, strikes me as someone who keeps a tidy house, and cooks. I'm messy and cook. Gaj strikes me as messy and doesn't cook, and 2 messy people living together is never good! Trust me, i've done it! :)

I'm guessing if he plays, he will still look tired and restricted compared to his great form from a few weeks ago, something in the 60 to 70 area will see him drop $30k. My guess is, he won't play.

Watson's B/E going into this week was 127, and he scored 127. This means his price can't change more than $200 in either direction.

Cheers again buddy. I easily afford birchall to Hanley and mundy to pendles this week. Being low on trades means I'm happy to cop vlastuins price drop. Before birchall got injured the plan was vlastuin or Terlich to Hanley. I only have 7 trades so with how inconsistent defenders are I'm thinking vlastuin/Terlich at d6 for the remainder of the season. That's why I'm opting against thurlow or birchall to clisby.

Cheers for another great response Rowsus, yeah even though Hanley might not score great this week, the price drop and score that I am sensing from Vlastuin (if he plays) is probably going to cancel out any gains in waiting another week on Hanley.

:) Now I just have to hope he isn't suspended or anything so I can follow through on my plan touring him in and complete the MID.
