@Connoisseur @quite ironic @Juzzo

Connoisseur thanks for the stats on Gray you make compelling case, but my gut says no.

I think the last match was an aberration in the context of this season. No Wines, Rocky, so more mid time, and poor opponent. I think you're better off finding the money somehow... you can't have spent it all yet, for Mundy/Boak/Telly/Dunkley/Daniel. If you can't scratch the cash for these guys then I think Rowan Marshall, with only one match against Grawndy to come, is the best pick...yes is $60k more, but I think it's money well spent. I'd rather continue to run Hore in def or buy a Blakley than buy a bloke Gray/Gresham whose got a significant chance of screwing it up. Somehow I have Toby Green sitting at F6 and I wouldn't wish you to have the same issue as dodgy F6 as me.

Don't get me wrong, this is the first season I've had the guts not to buy Robbie for a long time, I love him as a footballer, I just hate where Hinkley plays him.
Thanks. Case is similar to R Sloane and Z Merrett as starting selections that at Gray's current price I can't knock it back and would rue bypassing him over another option. Not too bothered about below par F5-F6 as Hoff and Gray will be the likely combo unless I grab a Menegola type in the latter half to loop with the Hoff and hopefully the other lines can compensate. In regards to cash I'd rather save in the fwd line to possibly allow Goldy to be upgraded to Gawn at some stage or Duursma (D7) to S Hurn.

Will be down to single figure trades as I'll be making 3 this week but would greatly appreciate thoughts on which plan to execute this round.

1.
RD13: Out: T Atkins, L Baker, N Answerth, In: B Bewley, J Dunkley, R Gray (via W Setterfield)

Setterfield will then likely make way for D Clarke assuming he is on the bubble in RD14 with the money to be utilised in either upgrading Duursma to Sicily/Hurn in RD15 onwards or T Goldstein to M Gawn from RD15 onwards.
O Baker will be traded for a fwd/mid basement rookie loop and Burgess will likely be traded to a fwd/mid (Mundy/Menegola/etc) via a potential Duursma to Naish trade.

2.
RD13: Out: T Atkins, N Answerth, B Smith, In: D Clarke, R Gray, L Ryan/J Sicily
J Sicily would provide sufficient cash to trade L Baker to Dunkley next week via a downgrade to Hately via Setterfield whereas the Ryan trade will mean I'll likely fall short but still have the luxury of fielding 18. Future planned trades will be the same as mentioned above.

Therefore it's either finish the fwds, grab Bewley and Clarke over the remaining bye period, hold B Smith for 1 more round to reassess
or keep Baker for 1 more round, trade Smith and defs near completion, grab D Clarke and J Hately as my M9-10.

Torn on hore. Anyone feel passionately about whether to keep or sell? Feels silly to move him on but historically selling hot rookies has usually turned out to be the right decision. If I kept he would probably be d6 until Whitfield got back, then that would be a final late upgrade if I could afford it.

If you have adequate cover of players this round I would hold, as you said your holding Whitfield with the view he may be back earlier than expected. Hore will increase in value by approx $23k in r14 and a further $6k in r15. Averaging 87 and will benefit from having Lever and May back. Melbourne have Freo, Brisbane, Blues and doggies coming up, so favourable draw. You could hold and reassess in a couple of weeks.

Option 1 for me, option 2 has reliance on Clarke being named which appears clouded with Wooshas presser. Brodie Smith out may be good timing, about to face a manic Richmond forward line. Not sure if Bewley will be named either, he's done enough, but these Thursday night games always throw up curveballs.

I shifted him to Sicily because I also shifted Whitfield. If I held Whitfield, I would probably hold Hore (didn't have the luxury of doing so).

Rd 13:
Out: Atkins In: Gardner
Out: Clarke In: Weller
Out: Balta In: Gray

Rd 14:
Out: Goldy In: Grundy
Out: ROB In: Fort
Out Walsh In: Best mid

Will end Byes with 9 trades and a weak bench! Team as follows:

Lloyd, Ryan, Laird, Weller, Smith, Answerth. Hinge, Naish
Cripps, Neale, Kelly, Fyfe, Macrae, Oliver, Rockcliff, XXX, Scott, Hayes, Setterfield
Gawn, Grundy, Fort
Dangerfield, Kelly, Heeney, Marshall, Billings, Gray. Gardner, Young.

What players would you target in the red highlighted position.

Backline think the only one I really want is Hurn.

Midfield - can not decide.

Would love some help this week.

I'm planning to make 3 trades, and I'm quite concerned I'm going to cop a donut.

I can do:
Out: Hore, Answerth, Baker
In: Sicily, Gardner, Parish

But I can't help but feel like I'm trading myself into problems that way.

Looking at my team, I'm pretty happy with how things are tracking - I'm ranked top 2k, but this week's moves feel pivotal.

Would love some advice on whether I just tank a donut this week.

Are there people playing this game who don't have a dodgy F6?

FWIW I also have Greene at F6, but with a 13k price rise he'd be at F4! But I'm almost "full dodgy" in the forward line. I have Danger at F1, but after that it's all just different levels of dodgy.
Every other year I'd agree, but this year I'm trying to take no pensioners (lol) and make the best 22 I can ride it with rookie cover and perhaps the occasional trade...

Next week I'm thinking :

ROB > Gardner
Gibbons > Clarke
Walsh > Parker

A price spike from Walsh + Gibbons could make it hard to move them on next week... Here's hoping for some good, but not great scores from those fellas!
I would say that paying 620k for Parker (averaging 111) is perhaps over spending. If you don't need the warm body in R14 you could save 50k and get Neale instead, who averages 10 points per game more. Maybe you plan to pick him up in R15 anyway in which case fire away :D

An option could be:
Out: N Answerth, L Stocker, B Scott
In: R Gardner, B Bewley, R Gray (via I Heeney)

19 playing.

Trade Balta in Rd14 for D Clarke/etc by switching I Heeney back to the fwd line to allow 1 of Stack/Baker to be upgraded.

I like option 2 with Sicily.

To be really honest, I don't have Hore, so watching him continually produce time and time again is heartbreaking. If you can, keep him. Mature age and performing well. Great rebounder and a great intercept mark too. Really rate him and wish I stuck with him and didn't trade him out early after round one like a bloody tool.

He is a pretty damn good d6 atm i think. Aside from round 1, he has basically scored 75+ every week. Not all our so called premiums can do that. I can see Hore becoming a real premium in years to come.

I'd target Hurn and Bont.

I think you need to target Dunkley for that final forward spot so if that means copping a donut this week then so be it. I'd do the first two and not the third.
