I just realised I was bringing in Daniel for Balta but already have Danger, T.Kelly, Dunkley, Heeney, Boak, Marshall

Would I be better off spending the extra 70k and getting Bont, 100k to get Macrae or 70/30k and get Oliver/Treloar and just bench them this week?

I’d be foolish to run with Daniel at 470k (and having one of Danger/T.Kelly/Heeney/Dunkley in the mids) over another premium mid wouldn’t I?

Just who to get ?

Daniel 470k
Macrae 570k
Merrett 565k
Bont 543k
Oliver 540k (miss out on a score this week)
Treloar 508k (miss out on a score this week)

I think Macrae is the one to bring in, but it'd be annoying if he only scored 100 / got tagged for an 80, and then came tumbling down because of his 150 BE.

Are you fully upgraded in defence? If not, I'd consider taking a defender, Sicily, Blakely, Ryan (whoever you fancy), and then look to take Oliver next round.

Me too. I'm waiting for the teams to see actually how many Rookies I will have playing. If I can field 19 players (looking like it) then I will trade out Baker.
If you have 18 or even 17, upgrade IMO, these 2 remaining bye rounds are when to do it to gain whatever advantage you can.
Yeah I'm just really nervous about bringing in Naish, Bewely and/or Clarke early whilst I still have Hayes also. Could go pear shaped very quickly in terms of bench cover if these guys have a poor showing and go back to the magoos.

The coin used to cash in Baker will be handy next week to bring in Neale though. I guess it's one of those things where if hits his BE he'll go up just a bot but another week like last week and he might drop the coin I need.

I love Thursday games but this week I'd really rather they were all traditional Friday/Saturday and Sunday games.

Yeah fully upgraded in defense if I keep Hore D6. Brought in Sicily last week.

I have 660k available for a forward or midfielder but also will want to bring in Grundy for O’Brien next week too so probably looking to keep some coin.

If I went Macrae over Daniel that would leave me with 9 trades and 3 upgrades to make (O’Brien -> Grundy, Walsh -> Oliver, Setterfield -> premium mid)

Would be probably doing Baker -> Rookie, O’Brien -> Grundy so I think cash wise I could do Macrae this week and still be able to do that next week easily.

This is the team if I do Macrae over Daniel (current post bye team):

Should have 17 guaranteed playing this week + Rockliff, Scott and Young all 50/50 so maybe even 20 which would be awesome.

Thoughts on trades for this week. Will probably be looking to get rid of a combination of Moore/Answerth/Clark/Hore.
Will either bring in 2 rookies and 1 premium or 1 and 2 if ditch my expensive rookies.
Suggestions? Players that had the bye last week would be ideal.

How much cash remaining?

Just wondering why some of you have very high opinions of R.Gray and C.Blakely...is there something I have missed?! lol
Haha yeah both are flyers for sure.

The reasons for Gray are fairly obvious but Blakely is the interesting one. Hasn't quite shown enough for any of us to feel really good about him, isn't that cheap and not especially durable having only played 17 and 15 the last 2 years before getting injured. I think the expectation is that he'll eventually end up playing in the midfield when he gets some miles in the legs. I'm giving him some thought but he's more of a 'best i can afford' type proposition more than anything else.

Midfield of: Neale, Cripps, Zerrett, McRae, Oliver, Rockliff and Libba

Do I add:
Fyfe (bad second half of year history)
Bont +$60K
I have similar question with:
Fyfe V Merrett V Treloar.

I’d go Bont, but no Fyfe could hurt.
Fyfe for me if you're not running super low on trades.

Re: Zerrett, he has WCE/GWS/SYD after Hawthorn this week so will most likely be copping a heavy tag. I think i'd have him last of those 3 for this reason.

Any love for Micky Hurley?
Yeah i'm considering Hurley as my Blakely alternative but really struggling to find a trend with his scoring so i feel a bit more confidence knowing Blakely should spend sometime in the middle.

Anyone seeing a trend?? It's bloody all over the shop o_O

Any love for Kade Simpson?
I reckon it's the end of the road for Simmo fantasy wise. Has been one of the most durable players over the years but is now starting to miss games and still has his bye to come. Even at his price, i don't think he's worth the punt (cue the big ton).

I think I'd take Macrae over Daniel. I'm not sure Daniel is worth it as a M8. Your cash and trade situation is tricky though. You may need to hope DClarke survives and continues to average strongly so that you can play him at M8 for 3-4 weeks post byes.

Generally struggles against top 8 sides by the looks of it. Melbourne game the only exception. He was sooo consistent in 2017, might be worth the punt.

I'm facing a dilemma familiar to a few...

1. Get Boak, but it likely compromises my future premo mid - giving me about c. 450 to spend on my final mid in R15 (would be a Mrouch type)
2. Get Gray, leaving me c.550 to spend on a mid in R15 (Could be a few options)
3. Or, I can go for a someone in between (Daniel, Marshall, Rocky) and split the difference
4 . Pick up Bont now as my M8 and choose a sub 430k FWD in R15.

Team after R14 into R15 with unknowns in X:

D: Lloyd, Sicily, Hurn, Laird, Williams, Andrews (R, R)
M: Cripps, Fyfe, Macrae, Neale, Zerrett, Oliver, Cogs, X (R, R, R)
R: Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
F: Dunkley, Danger, Telly, Heeney, Worpel, X (R, R)
1 or 4 for me but i'm not sure which fwd you could get for 430k.

It really does depend on how you feel about Gray though. If you're really into him, he seems like the best option. I'm not that into him though so that rules out option 2 for me.

Boak/Mouch looks like a pretty good option and if Mouch finishes the year like he has in the past, i don't think you'll find a better way to spend $450k!

I should be ok as next week I can do:
Baker -> Rookie
O’Brien -> Grundy

Then the following week:
Duursma -> Rookie
Setterfield -> Oliver

Meaning Clarke is only there for this week and next on field and leaves me 5 trades for injuries or moving on Walsh or Hore.

That would mean post bye round 14 Hore D6, Walsh M8, Grundy R2 and Marshall F6

I’ll grab Macrae this week I think then.

I'd go Fyfe in both situations if you can afford it. If you're struggling for cash then Bont or Treloar.
