Team below before trades this week. 9 left with only 8,100k.

In my situation with cash gen looking grim and trades low, should I be looking at cheaper upgrade options?

If I decide to keep Hore, then defence is complete. Answerth in mids atm but I read somewhere here that he has good JS, so maybe keep him for defence cover when I trade Clark.

Somehow I've managed to not have Boak, Telly or Dunkley in my forwards, I think I should probably be targeting one of these players?

Mids just ok and would like one of Fyfe or Jelly to finish off.

If I manage to complete my team I can see one of Gawn or Grundy copping an injury and I have no ruck cover, Westhoff is the only real option. Dixon due back soon, maybe this helps Hoff, but probably not.

I've gone early on a few rookies already, but may have to do it again.

Best case senario this week is 16 warm bodies before trades.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. (y)

I would keep Hore as a D6. You have 9 trades for 2 upgrades:

Balta and Atkins. I’d go hard for super premo’s there leaving you 5 trades for injuries or sideways moves later on in the season or even another defender and having Hore at D7 leaving 3 trades after 1 up 1 down moves.

This week I would be looking at the following moves (assuming all named):

Out: Balta, Clark, Atkins
In: Boak, Bewley (via Answerth), Clarke

By moving Atkins out that leaves you with around 150k for next week which you’d have to bank for a little bit to allow your cash cows to ride over the coming weeks so you can do a 1 up 1 down of a rookie down and say Scott or Answerth up to a fallen mid premium like Merrett/M.Crouch/Treloar type.

This week looks really tough as you have so many outs but I’d still be focusing on premiums you want to finish the side with than keeping players just because they’ll play this week. For example Balta could get 25-60 this week which isn’t that many points and likely drops 40k which hurts as he’ll be on you’ll be upgrading anyway. He will also miss round 14 meaning you’ll get another scorer in in Boak for both weeks so it isn’t technically any lost points anyway just a possible loss of GAINED points by moving someone else who isn’t playing this week to someone who is playing this week.
I think QI has it nailed.

Generally struggles against top 8 sides by the looks of it. Melbourne game the only exception. He was sooo consistent in 2017, might be worth the punt.
Not sure how i missed that. Tricky end to the year for us with 5/11 vs top 8 (11-4-3-14-12-5-17-8-15-9-2).

Thanks for the response. Still torn, for some reason I see treloar having a big end of the years.
If this was the beginning of the year, the value that Treloar offers, every day, but if you're able to buy the best, do so.

1. Fyfe is Life #1 all the way.
2. Zerrett
3. BBQ

4 of his 5 100+ scores have occured when he has taken 10+ marks ? did he set up differently in those games ?

and he hasn't scored anything in any game

3 games at Marvel for 3 tons as well.
Funny how he tonned up when he had 10+ marks. Reckon those bib number of marks didn't hurt hahah

5 games left at Marvel ;)

Yeah fully upgraded in defense if I keep Hore D6. Brought in Sicily last week.

I have 660k available for a forward or midfielder but also will want to bring in Grundy for O’Brien next week too so probably looking to keep some coin.

If I went Macrae over Daniel that would leave me with 9 trades and 3 upgrades to make (O’Brien -> Grundy, Walsh -> Oliver, Setterfield -> premium mid)

Would be probably doing Baker -> Rookie, O’Brien -> Grundy so I think cash wise I could do Macrae this week and still be able to do that next week easily.

This is the team if I do Macrae over Daniel (current post bye team):

Should have 17 guaranteed playing this week + Rockliff, Scott and Young all 50/50 so maybe even 20 which would be awesome.
I think I'd take Macrae over Daniel. I'm not sure Daniel is worth it as a M8. Your cash and trade situation is tricky though. You may need to hope DClarke survives and continues to average strongly so that you can play him at M8 for 3-4 weeks post byes.
I should be ok as next week I can do:
Baker -> Rookie
O’Brien -> Grundy

Then the following week:
Duursma -> Rookie
Setterfield -> Oliver

Meaning Clarke is only there for this week and next on field and leaves me 5 trades for injuries or moving on Walsh or Hore.

That would mean post bye round 14 Hore D6, Walsh M8, Grundy R2 and Marshall F6

I’ll grab Macrae this week I think then.
If i've calculated it right, you may be able to do Baker/ROB/Duursma to Grundy/Gardner/Treloar next week but it might mean needing to grab Bont instead of Macrae this week.

Alright I'm tentatively waiting for the other team line-ups to be announced tomorrow before pulling the trigger...but for now it's looking like:

Round 13:
J.Clark --> Gardner
Atkins --> Bewley
Balta --> Dunkley
approx ~$150k and 11 trades left

Round 14:
ROB --> Bines
Baker --> Boak
Rozee --> Sicily

Then approx ~170k and 8 trades left to get 2 prem mids (two out of Jelly/Sloane/Gaff/Oliver) and 2 prem defenders (2 out of Hurn/Ryan/Stewart).

Or might just get one more prem defender (Hurn) and leave Hore as my D6 which will leave me with a massive 1 trade going into round 19 lol :LOL::ROFLMAO:

Thoughts on trades for this week. Will probably be looking to get rid of a combination of Moore/Answerth/Clark/Hore.
Will either bring in 2 rookies and 1 premium or 1 and 2 if ditch my expensive rookies.
Suggestions? Players that had the bye last week would be ideal.
Which rookies do you feel like gambling on :p

You have most of the rd12 premos with the exception of Dunkey and Ryan but fall short of grabbing both it looks like so you so something like:

Out: Hore, Moore, Clark
In: Dunkley/JJ or Marshall/Ryan + Naish/Bewley/Clarke

Or if you like Gray you could do just about anything lol

Yeah i'm considering Hurley as my Blakely alternative but really struggling to find a trend with his scoring so i feel a bit more confidence knowing Blakely should spend sometime in the middle.

Anyone seeing a trend?? It's bloody all over the shop o_O

I reckon it's the end of the road for Simmo fantasy wise. Has been one of the most durable players over the years but is now starting to miss games and still has his bye to come. Even at his price, i don't think he's worth the punt (cue the big ton).
If you omit the tigers game in the wet he’s averaged 97.7 post round 3 haha :ROFLMAO:

What's the appeal of Robbie Gray? Not scoring that well. And Wines is coming back soon and will take his mid minutes right? Plus Dixon pushes the Hoff to a wing?
Nostalgia.

Some people have NAMES locked into their heads, Being champions of years gone by clouds their judgment on the current situation.
It's the flip side to the successful ''Tried & tested'' theory when selecting players.

does Clark & Scott down to $ 102,400.00 let you bring in Gray as M8 & Lycett/Westhoff as F6 ?

Given your bench that might be the best you can hope for and hope Answerth can cover D & M
Can do that with Clark, Atkins and Balta, not with Scott though. Hope Scott gets a gig this week, would be good timing. (y)

Am I crazy thinking about holding Liam Baker one more week?
Probaly, unless you're desperate for FWD cover in round 13 - he could still do ok with the Tigers full on small ball approach to tonight's game, but it could just as easily be a whitewash.

He'd be mooing the house down for mine as an almost perfectly fattened up cash cow, but there's no obvious one-down for me at the moment given that I'm already taking an early flyer on Naish and I have no M/F link.

I'll be mulling this one over today.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a reasonable number of Supercoaches taking a flyer on Gray or Hoff as an F6-7 looping option, as both have the ability to score heavily on a good day.

Look at the matches with lots of marks. Seems like he played average forward lines that allowed him to drift off his player and intercept. Then the matches with lower marks I'm assuming he was more accountable. Given the Bombers draw looks pretty hard over the next few, I'd probably stay away from him.

Biggest conundrum this week seems to be do I trade Balta to Gray to save losing 30k on Balta and maybe end up with Gray being a Fwd 6 or do I keep Balta and extra week to a useful rookie on the bubble and lose 30K in the process for upgrades. Field 18 either way.

Likely to be on a flight tonight when teams are named & the Tigers game starts. So I probably won't know whether Bewley is named or not before making a decision on Naish. Ugh.
