I guess if they use Moody/Boland/Rogers/Summers to fill Archer's spot.

Pretty confident Jewell opens in that team with wade gone. McDermott to 3. Think they’ll let McDermott keep and select a hard hitter batsman to compliment Bailey in the middle order.

Just looking at a few options.

Wade could be in or out of the Test team by then so all conjecture at the moment.

Any whispers as to who they are signing to replace Archer ?

Seems the focus is on English players.

Maybe the scouts were at the T20 WC Qualifier and pull out a couple of surprises.

any insights on Pat Brown (Stars) , should be available for their DWG in Week 7.

hasn't left my side at all , like most batsmen comes with a risk in T20 , BUT hopefully he gives us 2-3 cameos in 8his games and makes some good $$$ (straight swap to ABD)

Yes will be following my IPL RDT structure regarding WK's and hoping it works for Big Bash as well.

Be good to know how they work out the pricing , no idea how Banton & Hales can be priced the same given International experience , Zakir more expensive than Mujeeb etc etc.

I guess we should be grateful they gave us one gift to work with.

It is what it is so just have to work with it.

I wonder if they will change other positions.

As for WK , I was hoping they gave us Paine at basement price , but were smarter than I anticipated.

Why not have both ?

Philippe is almost the biggest lock to start with (imo) , 2 x DWG's in the first 3 weeks , hard to see why you wouldn't pick him.

Need to see how Banton goes in his DWG and play the BE game with him or keep him until ABD arrives.

Definitely will be starting 3 x Bat/WK , depending on Khawaja's availability that could even be 4 or 5.

Hadn't quite hot as far as factoring in Handscomb , so thanks for that.

I’ve been seeing a lot of teams with Neilson on the WK bench but my thoughts are that he will be a waste of a pick during their DG. He won’t be keeping with Carey there and will likely bat at 6, possibly at 5 if Head is in the Test team.

Am I missing something?

Captain loophole option I would assume until Carey goes to India for the ODI (although he could play sooner if he makes the Test side)

I think it’s likely that Nielsen will get a gig with Carey still there though so won’t be able to be used for loopholes. I was reading an article where he mentioned that he was looking forward to making a contribution in the middle order.

I read that one as well , think he is battling the final spot with Lehmann , Short & White myself.

Suspect Carey , Weatherald , Head , Salt & Wells are fairly safe in the Top 5 (pending Australian selection).

I probably will start one of Nielsen , Nevill , Doran as my bench keeper to use as a Captain loophole.
