Exactly. All the great players seem to have the appetite and the skill to do it.
very ordinary bowling attack (but you can only make runs against who you are playing) , but good to see him bring up a century after his performances in the Ashes.

hopefully gives him the belief he belongs at this level and gives him a long stint at # 3.

I think it was Warney saying yesterday that he reckoned we’d found our top four and should go forward with Burns and Labuschagne. Im inclined to agree.

As much as it feels a bit wasteful not having someone like Khawaja in the side when we’ve been short of batsmen, he’s nearly 33, only averages 41, and has had plenty of opportunity to stand up but hasn’t really done it.

I think Laubuschagne and especially Burns deserve a proper chance to nail down those spots. Khawaja can be first backup.

Even Head has started relatively well ... if a couple of things fall into place we may not be far off being a very good side again.

I won't get too excited just yet , think the Black Caps may surprise a lot of people this summer , Boult , Southee , Wagner + CDG are 10 times better than what the Pakistan have dished up so far.

Williamson is world class and have 3-4 other very talented bats.
I think they said this is the 5th or 6th time Burns has been recalled , mystifying really certainly looks (and has proven) he is better than Bancroft & Harris.

Labuschagne & Head are at that age bracket where they could have 10+ years ahead of them then just hope some of these younger bats can pump out some Shield runs in the next few seasons.

Only go to Bangladesh mid next year before Afghanistan (1) & India (4)

I think that’s fair - I wouldn’t necessarily back us against NZ in NZ, although I feel like we are getting closer to bedding down our best XI, which is an important step. It’s hard to see our batting being the strength any time soon, but given how good our attack is, alongside Warner and Smith, we have about 6 spots locked down (all NSW players, incidentally). Paine hasn’t led well but it’s hard to see his replacement being an inferior batsman, so there’s potentially some upside at #7 whenever that transition happens. If the other four bats can average 30 when they’re not in great touch, and cash in from time to time, that might be enough to win a lot of matches if we can keep our bowlers on the park.

India will be a huge series, I didn’t realize how good a side they are. Even Ishant Sharma suddenly looks (and performs) like a world class bowler ... at one stage I thought he was a chance to be the worst player to get to 100 Tests. It’s remarkable how far they seem to have come.

I think they said when Warner reaches 31 in Australia he acerages 90 odd which is better than Smith & second only to Bradman.

Be nice if Burns , Labuschagne , Wade & Head get the full 5 home Tests.

The bowling big 4 should be fine in home conditions.

I think the push for Carey will get louder & louder to replace Paine , still don't think Smith should get the captaincy back , but unless it is Cummins not sure who takes over.

India are now starting to develop into a world wide side , funny you mention Ishant after his 5WI against Bangladesh he is closing in on 300 wickets which totally stunned me how close he is .

If they ever get Hardik Pandya 100% right they will be even more dangerous.

India just won by an innings - and their two gun spinners, who both average 25, bowled 7 overs between them

First team to win 4 consecutive Tests in a row by a Innings ?

Think Mahmudullah retired out in the 2nd Innings as well , had 2 concussion substitutes and then a further 2 got hit as well.

Bumrah out injured as well so it was Ishant , Umesh & Shami doing the damage.

King Kohli with a century.

And they have more WTC points than all the other teams combined

Very true. Their quicks have come on in leaps and bounds:

George Bailey to be appointed as Greg Chappell's replacement on the selection panel.

Not sure if he can still play for Tasmania and the Hurricanes though anymore.

@Damion23 , any word he is retiring ?
