Some smarter coaches than me have probably picked 3 x $ 42 players hoping they don't play if they want to do the VC/C loop that way.

Seen in the IPL RDT where Top 100 coaches operate with only 12/13 active players all competition.

Advantage of Fraser-McGurk , Green , Sutherland & Wright all having DPP

With Pierson not being named but Steketee named I went back to an earlier strategy of Carey on the WK bench

I think he spent a lot of last season at 4? Likely to be 3-4 depending on what they do with Carey.

BBL|08 Played 11 matches, opened twice, first drop once, six times at 4th, once at 6th and 7th
BBL|07 Played 3 matches, opened twice, first drop the other
BBL|06 Played 1 match and came in at #7

Based on last season's stats and with Ingram gone and Head unavailable early, I'll be very surprised if he doesn't bat in the top 4. Can also bowl some off breaks, but that will be dependent on the makeup of their XI, particularly whether O'Connor is in the team or not.

Can see a lot of people having major headaches come Round 5 with too many Scorchers/Strikers players.

Scorchers having the DWG in Round 6 would probably mean holding them.

Going easy then depending on how many extra Strikers you want for Round 3 to add to your Sixers & Scorchers.

I misread your post that you were not going to have any $ 42k benches at all.

It's points on field that count.
Yes, you need to be able to afford the pricey players because they score the best - usually. But in my limited experience you can trade good player->good player to take advantage of the byes and still make money in the process.
For example: I've started with Lynn, Khawaja and Banton but there's a good chance all three will be traded to Adelaide players after this round.
I might not make money, I might lose money, but I'll have 3 x DGR players who have the potential to score well in rnd.s 1 and 3.

A little later: atm my "cheap" bench players are ones I trust will get games - L Livingstone and C Green of the Scorchers; W Agar and H Conway of the Strikers.
Although I shouldn't say cheap as only Green and Conway are $42K. But I think that they are comparatively cheap for what they might produce.

Conway is very interesting if Neser & Siddle are not released.

Does he "limit" you getting other Striker players though for Round 3 to go with Sixers & Scorchers players ? then trying to get rid of Scorchers/Strikers in Round 5.

I wouldn’t query anyone picking none but no that’s not how I’ve set up. I do think you can take an AFL GnR mindset into other games (esp with byes) like this one and find it doesn’t work. 20-20 lends itself to certain player types and usually the $42k lads bat too low or don’t get enough overs at the right time.

I am hoping Ellis stays around long enough to navigate through Round 1 - 6 but who knows.

Seemingly easier for bowlers so hopefully he can get 1-2 wickets per game.

Not 100% sold on Sutherland getting a game.

I will probably end up with Agar , a $ 62.5 & 2 x $ 42 benches without compromising my onfield side too much.

You could select a A Agar/Livingstone type and then downgrade a Heat/Thunder player to the best rookie after 1 round of vision. Same number of double game players, lower risk in picking the wrong rookie.
