So with 3 trades to burn I have a clean slate and not clear who to get apart from Pattinson.

What I am not totally getting is why are so many of you targeting Heat players right now? Apart from Pattinson and his BE?

I get we need to start to build up for those late DGRs but it’s still a few rounds away for the Heat.

ABD because of who he is and I get that but I feel he could wait.

Mujeeb? Cutting? Lynn? I’m not sure, why would I want them now?
1 possible reason I guess is that given the washout last night, people have stayed away from 6er's this week. Renegades have the bye this week.

Hurricanes have the DGW next week but again were effect and mostly suck anyway.

The other reason I'm looking to the likes of Pattinson Ur Rahman etc, is I already have Khan, Nesser and Head for next week and I currently have 0 heat players in my squad.

I guess with only SGW players after next round the players you bring in need to be good enough to stand up in Rd 12 the main consideration.

Just my thoughts ?

Yes currently I only have Rashid from the strikers which is making me think I need to go Neser, Siddle first and then pick one Heat which I’m now thinking needs to be Cutting.

Mujeeb I like but BE 71 means he could wait. Ditto Lynn BE 125.

Phil Salt: As much as it pains me, Salt has a favourable run home with 3 matches at Adelaide Oval. If you are strapped for cash and need a player for their double and can't afford the others mentioned above, then Salt is a genuine chance of averaging 50+ in the last 5 rounds and therefore should be under consideration. Fields in hot spots as well, so if enough runs are put on the board, he is a high chance of featuring in some wickets.
Thankyou, after holding him way too long originally you have confirmed i am not going crazy to consider him. With my set up of my team i can get a free look at him to loop next round if he goes well, then he has the dgw so i feel am only really risking today as i would have to play him as i have to trade webster to someone. Wanted a bit of a pod that has the potential to score 100+. and for the coin i can bank not sure i can find someone better.

Has he got a 100 in a single game yet?

Over a double yes maybe possible. Are you strengthening your bench? He could be useful as a bench cover and run him over the DGR.

Yeah just confirmed on Tails's list that he got 121 early in the season... but his next best score is 42! And a lot of those middling scores are propped up by catches given where he fields.
Yes that’s right now I look at that game

54 off 26
1 Runout
1 catch

So yeah theoretically possible :)

Melbourne Renegades

Shaun Marsh: Has threatened at times to go huge but has only averaged 50 in SC this season. Frustrating to see from a guy that was a stud in previous editions of the BBL. That said, he'll play at the GABBA next round and should see some success there, and an opportunity against the weaker Hurricanes and Sixers attacks gives him the opportunity to lift the season average to 60. I'm tipping him to have 2 good scores, most likely against the Sixers and Heat (first match).

Dan Christian: The guy who has burnt me since round 3-4 when I bought him for approx 160K. Decided to show what he is capable of last round from the bench, much to my chagrin. He is likely a must have coming into their DGW but you may have to act fast if he scores a score over 70 next round as his price is going to start rising quickly. With the Sixers (SCG) and the Heat (Marvel) he is a genuine chance of going large in one game, so if you decide to go without, you're taking a decent risk.

Beau Webster: Didn't this man surprise us all with his brilliance as a cash cow and point scorer! He's the one player I regret not getting but I'm still a bit wary of grabbing him for their double. Has floated in the batting order and with Finch to come back into this team, he is probably batting 4-5 pending situation. Webster isn't quite cheap enough to take the punt on, so if you already own him then you could well hold him through until his double and get a leg up on other teams.

Mohammad Nabi: The guy I was waiting anxiously for to arrive on our shores has finally arrived. Limited role with the bat in the first two matches he's played, but no coincidence that the Renegades have won their first game in his presence. Will play an important cog in the next few rounds and should score heavily on the Marvel and SCG matches. I would be considering him over all other Renegades players (apart from K.Richardson).

Cameron Boyce: In my pre-season write up, I said if Boyce comes below 150K, you should be getting him. I didn't listen to this advice, but I'm very likely to try and bring him in soon before his inevitable strong scores on bowling wickets from Rd12 onwards occur.

Sam Harper: His role has been changed a bit throughout the season which is frustrating for those who have owned him. Provides a more reliable trade option for Philippe owners, who I suspect will be flicking him immediately given the latest failure. Most may prefer Matt Wade though given his pedigree, so Harper may become a POD option for those willing to take a risk for about 20-25K cheaper. Word of warning though, his role could well change again when Finch comes into the squad again.

Matthew Wade: One ok score and a rubbish score before the washout. I was rubbing my hands with glee when I saw this occur and will be taking advantage next round with a Philippe > Wade trade being the first thing locked in. Sure you will cop a nasty price drop in the round after, but having Wade against a fairly innocuous Strikers attack will be beneficial for your run home.

Qais Ahmad:
Man this guy has killed me this season, but nor should you let his form deter you from a cut price player capable of big scores. Has had a really lean trot since Rd2, but plays on 2 good spinning wickets in Marvel and Spotless for the Hurricanes double. I've held onto him all this time and won't be letting him go in the hope he produces, but you will all be able to grab him at a very cheap price for the DGW.

Scott Boland: People forget that Boland had a great season in BBL 6 where he took quite a few wickets for the Stars and was nearly a premium player in his own right. This season he has shown he has good pace and has moved the ball around quite well. The double round shapes up well as he plays on Marvel the first match where he could have a day out. The other thing to consider is that at the Hurricanes, he is considered the strike bowler without Riley Meredith in the team currently, so is given responsibility when a wicket is needed (and fields are adjusted accordingly). Consider as a luxury trade in, or hold if you've held this long.

Ben McDermott: Has the pedigree, has a good role but just hasn't delivered. Is he due? Absolutely, but are you going to take the chance that he does? I'm unlikely to take this chance, but I will be very surprised if there aren't a few members here who don't take the chance.

David Miller:
Waiting for the 'how is he in your consider list?' comments. He is the 5th Hurricane or 8th-9th double player I would be considering given his form, but an ex-international player who is going to be near sub-50k who I can trade Will Sutherland to for a small net gain? I'd be mad if I didn't consider doing this trade. Make sure this is only done as a luxury trade though, as he could well burn you.

Nathan Ellis: A rookie as a must consider for their DGW? Am I crazy? Probably, but hear me out. Bowls death at Marvel and Spotless in his double against possibly the WORST two teams at holding their wickets in the last 4-5 overs in the Renegades and Thunder. Who did he get his spike 100+ score against? You guessed it, the Renegades. Likely to come down a decent amount with the washout score in his system for two price changes so will be very cheap for those wishing to take a punt.

Based on averages coming into this Round by team now looks like :-

Curran * , Stoinis * , Maxwell * , Lynn , Christian * / Hughes , Bancroft (WK)

Inglis (WK) / Nevill (WK)

Khan , Dwarshuis , Richardson , Morris * , Ellis / Sutherland * , Kerr *

Christian & Ellis the weak links

Made a poor tactical decision last night so hopefully it doesn't hurt me too much and I learn from it.

$ 35,800.00 in the bank to play with

Have identified 8 out of 9 of the players that I want to trade in so hopefully it all works and can remain competitive.

Yeah he got 121 against the renegades in his first game if the dgw last time, and then a 0 in the 2nd game. Yeah brought him in to strengthen bench but had to play him today, which worked out as he got 111 but who knows what he would of ended up on finally got going. Unfortunately brought in head who didnt get to bat with that shambles from the heat
