Melbourne Renegades
Shaun Marsh: Has threatened at times to go huge but has only averaged 50 in SC this season. Frustrating to see from a guy that was a stud in previous editions of the BBL. That said, he'll play at the GABBA next round and should see some success there, and an opportunity against the weaker Hurricanes and Sixers attacks gives him the opportunity to lift the season average to 60. I'm tipping him to have 2 good scores, most likely against the Sixers and Heat (first match).
Dan Christian: The guy who has burnt me since round 3-4 when I bought him for approx 160K. Decided to show what he is capable of last round from the bench, much to my chagrin. He is likely a must have coming into their DGW but you may have to act fast if he scores a score over 70 next round as his price is going to start rising quickly. With the Sixers (SCG) and the Heat (Marvel) he is a genuine chance of going large in one game, so if you decide to go without, you're taking a decent risk.
Beau Webster: Didn't this man surprise us all with his brilliance as a cash cow and point scorer! He's the one player I regret not getting but I'm still a bit wary of grabbing him for their double. Has floated in the batting order and with Finch to come back into this team, he is probably batting 4-5 pending situation. Webster isn't quite cheap enough to take the punt on, so if you already own him then you could well hold him through until his double and get a leg up on other teams.
Mohammad Nabi: The guy I was waiting anxiously for to arrive on our shores has finally arrived. Limited role with the bat in the first two matches he's played, but no coincidence that the Renegades have won their first game in his presence. Will play an important cog in the next few rounds and should score heavily on the Marvel and SCG matches. I would be considering him over all other Renegades players (apart from K.Richardson).
Cameron Boyce: In my pre-season write up, I said if Boyce comes below 150K, you should be getting him. I didn't listen to this advice, but I'm very likely to try and bring him in soon before his inevitable strong scores on bowling wickets from Rd12 onwards occur.
Sam Harper: His role has been changed a bit throughout the season which is frustrating for those who have owned him. Provides a more reliable trade option for Philippe owners, who I suspect will be flicking him immediately given the latest failure. Most may prefer Matt Wade though given his pedigree, so Harper may become a POD option for those willing to take a risk for about 20-25K cheaper. Word of warning though, his role could well change again when Finch comes into the squad again.
