Bonar is an interesting one ... I think I read a HS article talking him up, which said that he averaged 94 in the NEAFL last year.

I immediately lost all interest.
Think someone posted here a few seasons ago he suffered a lot with injuries in his junior years.

Lack of opportunities at the Giants , I gather Kangaroos got him for a reason , I don't know their Best 22 , but their may well be a opportunity for him to establish himself.

Yes but the 94 NEAFL average will equate to what at AFL level... surely be better options for cash generation

Obviously and it is January 20th , so who knows what rookies will appear Round 1.

At the moment he was named mainly due to his higher price pretty much so I could get a look at structure , same as Anderson.

If you looked my team had Picket at M9 so he will definitely won't be on my bench so automatically I will lose one of Anderson/Bonar.

Well that is the epitome of guns and rookies. Well played sir, 13 premos.

I'm taking on a lot more risk with one less premo and 3 more mid pricers and cheaper rookies.

I very much like it and at first glace not too many rnd 13 premos. What is your actual bye structure?
I have no idea.

I'll have to check when SC opens.

confused by this comment with Dawson being D/F , still have room for all 3 of Whitfield/Martin/Heeney unless Son Son is a must.

Haven't really factored in byes yet.

Think IF Smith & Steven are cherry ripe by Round 1 , more than capable of going 90+ again as they have in the past , obviously Steven's role at Geelong will be vastly different to what he played at the Saints though.

Preseason (finally) under TJL excited to see what he could score.

Thanks for the feedback
It's based on that I think Dawson is wasted in defence. I think the top 12 + Houston will easily make a list of 6 that avg circa 100. I have no such confidence in the forward line.
  1. Lloyd, done it
  2. Houli, done it
  3. Hurn, done it and improving
  4. Williams, done it and improving, risk of role change from 2nd half
  5. Daniel, improving
  6. Stewart, improving
  7. Rampe, something changed last year for him
  8. Laird, done it
  9. Rich, hodge gone, rules favour
  10. Newman, ball magnet
  11. Ryan, new coach
  12. Sicily, done it.
  13. Houston, tell him he's dreaming...
Now not all of this will happen, Smith might eat Lairds ball, Sicily might play forward, Houli could slide back, but I seriously think the threshold is 100 for a defence keeper.... for F5/6 I think it's likely to be 95 or so.

EDIT: 14 Docherty, done it.

With my BBL SC team on the slide for about 4 rounds now and AFL SC officially open... think it's a perfect time for me to start my AFL SC preseason planning.

Haven't really researched rookies much and haven't looked at byes just yet. I'm hoping there'll be enough rookies down back so I can go with a predominantly thin backline approach.

Here's my first draft:
DEF: Houston, Docherty, Roberton, Hill, Young, Starcevich (Gould, Rivers)
MID: Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Dunkley, Danger, Rowell, McHenry, Pickett (Valente, Bianco, Hibberd)
RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Comben)
FWD: Whitfield, Dusty, Heeney, Smith, Cockatoo, Rankine (Brander, King)

Depends on if he kicks on in the preseason and is in their round 1 lineup. Same price point as Rowell basically - probably doesn't project as well in terms of cash gen, but if he only produced say 80% of Rowell's output (just to throw a number out there) then that is still potentially a very handy starting rookie to have in your lineup.

Certainly looks to have trimmed up a little to this point in the pre-season and the kid has talent so he is at least worth keeping an eye on.

It's a bit early and the head is a little foggy, but did we lose a little cash in the cap when the site went live last night - what I pieced together last night now doesn't fit (I'm short roughly 15k compared to the team picker version).

There will have been adjustments to player prices due to player retirements. e.g. Alex Rance. Every player has an effect on the price of every other player. Same has happened in the NRL version.

Ahh bugger - just realised it was the ruck switch from Conroy to Comben that did it. :(

Thanks for helping me realise I'm an idiot... lol
