Wade excellent but didn't VC him. Qais ok. Boland terrible VC choice. I was able to loop DC and Harper and so luckily won't be taking either of their scores. However bringing in Harper was very unlucky and I think he misses next game too so will be down a DG player for next round. With some dpp magic I can now field Lalor or Henriques. Most likely the former.

Who’s smarter/has more cricket nous between Wade and Maddinson?

Wade is playing exactly the same 6-7 over max innings every time he steps out and takes guard. Only difference is whether the opposition can get him out or not before he does too much damage.

Maddinson is just on another planet - if I didn't know better I'd say he seriously needs to get his eyes checked because he's not seeing *anything* and is just flailing the bat wildly hoping to connect.

I reckon that would’ve given quite a few a bit of a shock but looks like they don’t play for 2 weeks so should be ok. Team meets in Cape Town on 31 January.
Very interesting times ahead for South Africa cricket.

Faf out of the ODI Squad , de Kock captain.

5 uncapped players.

ABD comeback talks for the T20 World Cup.

Do they make Bavuma test captain if he can get back in the team , a decision that could completely change their entire nations future.

yep and where was Head ?

first time this season they will have all 4 of them in the same side.

people are worried that Maxy is not batting enough when he is at 4 , no difference now to Carey.

Salt , Weatherald , Head could conceivably bat 15 of the 20 especially against a weakened Stars pace attack or they could be 3fa 30.
exactly and maxi has been bowling

If they can beat the Thunder on Friday , will make things interesting if they then try and qualify a OS replacement player for the finals just in case they make it.

or you (and others) can just read the article on CricInfo that outlines it player by player , team by team ?

pretty sure cricket.com.au had 2 if not 3 articles on their return and BBL availability as well

FoxSports also had a article on their website
@Herbie66 ,obviously the sarcastic font is still not working on my phone

perhaps when you see 50 different posters ask the same question over and over again in the space of a day or so to information that has already been provided the sarcasm font is completely lost or deactivated altogether ?

anyway hopefully someone else can take over providing people with information in the future

Point taken I thought by mentioning that "I thought I'd seen it posted previously but couldn't be bothered looking for it " that it would have been clear that it was attempted sarcasm/humour. Thanks for all the info you have freely provided on this and the cricket discussion thread this summer, I am maybe a bit slow on hitting like but have probs read all (at least most) of them

I'd like to thank @Herbie66 for his wonderful contribution to this site, he goes out of his way to assist a lot of people on many of the threads here, unfortunately the tongue in cheek comments haven't aged well regarding ODI players returning back to their BBL franchises.

I look forward to reading more of Herbie's trade remedies and his squad announcements. Any news on the heat or 6's, trying to find a loop for my vc Wade. Hoping Kerr or Swepson don't play. ?

My apologies , you might have copped the majority of my frustrations , counting slowly 1-10 doesn't work , so maybe I have to become better at reading posts and ignoring some (and laughing at the sarcastic ones).

I guess at the start of the Big Bash season I write down all the OS players then check what International commitments they have and work out if they need to be replaced , and take note of Australia's schedule.

I am probably luckier than most that I do have time to check a couple of cricket sites frequently.

Anyway now I am getting distracted by AFL SC (mid price madness here I come)

Thanks for your comments

Cheers

Cheers Professor

Kerr & Manenti were LRP's for Lyon & Smith , so assuming Smith has returned and is named in today's squad (you will know 30 minutes after I do) then I am 100% sure we won't see Kerr named again , unless of course he becomes a LRP for someone else.

As for Swepson , he will be named in the XIII depends on whether the Heat play 3-1 or 2-2 as to whether he plays.

Hope that helps

Thanks Herbie Kerr for captain it is. Hope Swepson doesn't get into the 11, as I'd have to take the lower of Swepson or Dwarshuis who I'll have to bench.

Squad Announcement - Brisbane Heat

Out: Prestwidge
In: Labuschagne

* Note even though Loose Bus Change was born in South Africa , he has played for Australia in Test & ODI cricket so is classified as a local player so ABD & Mujeeb can also still both play.
