Gulbis is 33 , you would hope he is well and truly off the radar for Big Bash teams.

I hope we have some juniors somewhere in the country that are better than him.
I'd hope so, too.
I wasn't recommending he be picked, just pointing out that as he has better form than Stepien in the Vic SuperSlam it's not a good sign for Stepien in the BBL.

Stepien made a 104 in District/Grade cricket on Jan 11 , so he might have his eye in.

Not sure many would be trading him in , but who knows he could be worth a "fun" trade and perform quite well.

Sixers can't finish lower than 3rd and since 4 v 5 plays the first game , Nevill can be used as the VC/C loop (providing you want your bench WK score)

Ideally you should be looping all 3 positions in the first game , then deciding how many donuts you require.

If all 3 looped players fail ask someone else for a option hahaha

Finals can be good for doing a reverse loop - that is most people will loop who they perceive as a fringe player, but sometimes an advantage can be gained by looping a really popular gun. If the gun fails, then it can get you an advantage and if he succeeds then no harm done.

I haven't heard of the reverse loop before.

I always thought of looping a gun.

I guess looping a fringe player gives you a "free" hit but then how does that work if you loop 3 fringe players off your bench in each position and they all fail to then find a captain loop ?

I guess if your VC fails in the first game you still need to find a captain though anyway.

The problem with looping fringe players is what score do you take. Come finals we should have fairly strong sides. If your looped player scores say an OK 60, do you take it or leave it?

60 in a heart beat especially given this round I have DC , Stoinis & Head (so far) all very much below that.

I wonder how many 60+ players their will be from the 4 teams in the finals for Round 14 ?

I guess we won't know until the ladder is finalised.

Maybe their will be 1-2 fallen premiums to take the punt on.
