2010: 21 @ 103.5
2011: ACL in round 2
2012: 22@ 102.3

The true guns don't care about a little knee injury. Doc is a very intelligent player and will have no trouble finding the ball and scoring well IMO. I'm expecting 95. 115 is rare form and that's difficult to back up even if fully fit.
The only risk with him is injury concern.

Yeah a 95 works, but pretty sure players with similiar roles and output have dropped significantly the previous years, anyway like @THCLT I'm sure I've read this previously. Nick Malceski comes to mind who might've dropped 30-40 points next season but maybe there's contributing factors outside his injury to note.

2 years is a long time out, there has been a lot of changes to the playing group and coaching staff at Carlton.

Either way, Docherty will have a say in shaping the start of our season, similar to the Grundy/Gawn debate of last season. I don't think Docherty will have the same 'hurt' factor for those who went without Grundy or Gawn in 2019, but it will definitely be one of those fascinating decision that coaches has to make when assembling their starting team.

It's the start of CNY so an opportune time to put another draft team together...

It would take something extraordinary between now and the start of the season for me not to go in with the starting structure resembling the one posted below. Only 3 to 4 will be on close JLT watch from below, including a couple who hasn't quite made the cut in this draft.

I'm pretty happy to just sit on this for the meantime and wait for when the JLT starts to crank up leading up to the opening round. Hopefully, it will be just a case of moving a few pieces of the puzzle and no mad scrambling prior and during R1 as has been the case for most of my AFL SC experience.

I know they have to be over the injury physically but believe that being over it mentally is just as important as well, weather these guys are in that bracket will yet to be seen , hopefully the JLT series shows us that.

I have seen this first hand in some cases being a qualified sports trainer , i have selected Docherty , Whitfield and Robertson so here's hoping they are.

Hopefully I can bring in 2 additional premiums for Round 13 to cover , who knows which rookies will be still playing by then (might be upgraded by then).

I think for the sake of one round I will stick with my preferred starters , I think 2 seasons ago I had about 3-4 premiums that were "rested" during the bye rounds anyway.

I guess at the end of the day each player we start with will have a bye.

Lynch is very much on my watch list as well.

I have every player in your forward line so I’m obviously a fan of the setup.

Can’t fault the defence. I have just squeezed in Roberton by going for a couple of options under 500k instead of Laird and Sicily but both are excellent picks.

Good team to just sit on until the pre-season matches commence I reckon.

Perhaps one thing to consider with Doc is that some people are measuring his reduced scoring against his last season 114 ave. Prior to that he rolled out a 108 and before that it was the early days and he was not in premium status land. If you were conservative you would take the 114 as exceptional and probably dial it down to the 108. Which would put a 20 pt drop in his output around 88. The price is great but so is the risk. But that is what the game is all about isn't it.

I find Smith an interesting one. His only real season of note was his first at the Bombers where he probably had a serious point to prove to some people at his previous club. Last year not sure what was happening prior to his injury. I kind of see him as a stepping stone and unlikely to be a keeper.

I have an almost identical setup but have squeezed Jack Steven in there who’s value appears to good to be ignored.

I reckon we’ll end up with very similar teams if they end up anything like they are at the moment.

Rowell is the one for me that will likely determine if I start Lloyd or Dawson/Houston

Playing around with several structures and don't mind this one including Gawn who hasn't featured in many of my previous iterations.
