Well, I bloody tried in that last game!!! Finally out of the bottom bracket, but also out of the comp.

Thanks B2D, I enjoyed the comp even though the luck didn’t seem to run my way too often. I am sure it has taken a lot of your time to keep us all entertained, so thanks for the effort you put in.

This is just an repeat of the current standings updated for what happens now in the ladder comp finals.

Note
E = Eliminate (4 v 5)
Q = Qualifer (1 v 2)
K = Knockout (3 v Winner of E)
C = Challenger (Loser of Q v Winner of K)
F = Final (Winner of Q v Winner of C)
X = denotes eliminated due to missing finals or losing a knockout final

Essential this comp now exactly mirrors what happens in the real Big Bash. The 4s & 5s (only) will play on Thursday night, the 1s & 2 (only) will play on Friday night. Each of those finals have 15 who qualified and the top 8 will advance. I will conduct the player draws on Thursday.

Note the points comp continues as normal.

It’s not really that complicated. It is effectively the McIntyre final four system with a wildcard playoff for 4th. I don’t mind it.

I suppose the thing I don't get is in an 8 team comp ... 5 teams make the finals ...

To put it in perspective to me that is akin to the AFL having 11 - 12 teams make the finals ... doesn't compute to me ...

Ok that is a different issue which I tend to agree with. However just remember that 4th and 5th have to beat every other team that makes the finals in a row to lift the cup. If either of them can do that then they are probably a worthy winner.
