Defs: Laird, Sicily, Doch, Roberton, Hill + rookies (Gould, McCleannan, Rivers)
Mids: Fyfe, Cripps, Bont, Oliver, Rowell + rookies (Pickett, Valente, McHenry, Sharp, Mead, North)
Rucks: Gawn, Grundy (Comben)
Forward: Whitfield, Dusty, Heeney, Smith, Steven, Cockatoo + rookies (Rankine, King)
Hard to really lock into a structure without knowing where the rookies are. I have a few premiums on each line I’m happy to chop and change. Mids especially, I think it’s only Cripps and Oliver I’m completely comfortable on. I’m fairly bullish on Heeney as a starter. Laird, Whitfield, Fyfe, Bont can all be chopped and changed. Gawn to Jacobs/Naismith is a structure I’m open to as well.
Running one less mid atm than most as I keep getting stuck with Cogs when I try to add a mid. Not too fussed about cookie cutter sides as I think it’s the trading that really sets you apart! I also love the midpricer fallen premium type

The notable difference is the structure of the mids and forwards, but you could always start a M-F in the mids if the rookies dictated - ie it’s close to (if not literally) interchangeable anyway.
I’d be interested in why has you bullish on Heeney, and anything that might be holding you back on Danger and/or Neale?
I’ve had Heeney since my first draft, but Buddy’s fitness definitely doesn’t help the pick, and I have a little spare cash - so I was pondering upgrading him further.

I agree with what others have posted above.
Personally when I find myself in his sort of position, I just try to figure out 1-2 changes I'm willing to make to raise cash if that's warranted pre lockout.
Unless there a cheaper premium that just missed the cut for you, I find that one proper downgrade usually does the trick, and is better than half a dozen small trims. You can totally ruin your side with the latter approach.

Not sure I've yet made the shift to Rowell at M5 but it's hard to argue with what it allows in Def and Fwd.
Love the Laird Sicily combo and Steven at F5 but not sold just yet on giving up Oliver at M5

I personally reckon Heeney is fairly low risk as a starter. Floor of 90-95 avg but still has breakout potential if he gets that more significant mid time. I think he will breakout to 105+ at some stage, only a matter of when. Buddy will still play early (if not R1) and Sydney kept Papley, so both should help keep Heeney away from a heavy fwd role.
No real preference on the mids after Cripps and Oliver. There will no doubt be a few $600k+ guys who end up being huge bullets as starting picks. Will just need to figure out who those ones are vs the ones that start the year well. Hard to see any of the guys in the $600k range averaging under 105, but there always seems to be a few elites who drop for whatever reason.
Re Danger and Neale, Neale I think his price may fall at some point with a tagged score, I’m pretty unlikely to start him after a career best year. Danger, just feel a bit hesitant to start given price, age and role concerns but I’m not against the pick. Like Bont a bit more due to age and I doubt he’ll play fwd anymore with Bruce’s arrival.

Thanks. I think I prefer your structure with Oliver at M5 rather than Rowell. I can turn Laird into Cogs with loose change but can’t get him to a $630k ish mid without sacrificing Steven, Rowell or Roberton. So have settled on an extra def for the time being! Potentially can switch Whitfield to a mid if the fwd rookies look more reliable as well.

Yet to read other responses... so apologies if this has been covered. Team looks solid, and I'd be hesitant to make changes.
Laird. Debateable if going to be top 6ish... not a safe pick for mine. It might just be worth splashing the cash for Hurn, much more likely to be top 6 and that's what you want from D1. It's a dog breakfast in defence. The other I don't mind, which is not in many teams is Houli, but get ready for a ride...
Neale. Tags got him sorted from being must have elite to just elite, probably a little overs for mine.
I've got a feeling that Heeney might be the bloke you want up forward...

Yes. I have been a Laird fan for a while but I think B Smith impacts on his output. And now if Gibbs is going to be playing back as well not sure how that could affect his scoring as well. I guess it depends what you are expecting him to score. If it is 110 ave then I am not sure about that. I would be thinking 100 is much more likely as his best season result which would put 5th on 2019 top def by ave. But a 95/96 would not surprise me either.
Heeney is frustrating. Has the ability to go 100 plus ave but still has not done it and always has something that stops him. With Buddy possibly out for a while the risk might be they use him up forward more than midfield. I think Heeney is capable of 110 but there is nothing to suggest he will be doing it unless something seriously changes. Having said that even if things stay pretty much as they are he will still probably be a top 8 forward.

Nice team. Not too littered with mid priced madness... However, I don't like the Lloyd selection. If I was going to keep the same structure I think Hurn has less risk b/c Dawson. I don't like having the same club ruck FDTP as can't utilise it well when Grundy plays early....which he does a fair bit.
Lloyd could potentially be underpriced. Had a delayed preseason last year (can't remember what the surgery was), yet came out firing. Perhaps it was Dawson that affected his scores at the end of the year. Or perhaps he ran out of gas with his lack of preseason. Either way I think he is the safest defender to be top 6 this year.
Only thing stopping me from locking him in is his bye. Seriously could easily choose 9 keepers from that bye round. Trying to limit it to 7.
