Is Glenn Maxwell insane?

You're captain of the biggest choke artists not only in the BBL, but perhaps in T20 cricket in general, and you choose to BOWL first in a rain-shortened match where you may end up having to beat both the Sixers and the DLS???

One of the most mind-boggling calls ever, unless I'm somehow missing something here...

I think with the rain, perhaps expecting the ball to do a bit first up. Let’s see how it turns out.

Also, some assorted thoughts:

1) The only time the BBL Final was at a neutral venue was season 4, right before the World Cup. So the only reason for that was to have those grounds ready for the tournament. I know they used Canberra as well but probably a different pitch?

2) Mostly unsaid during this farce is the means of deciding the final - where the home team is awarded the final by default. Compare to the previous greatest farce in ending a cricket match - the World Cup final last year. Had that match been rained out, they would have shared the title!

Typically DLS favours the team batting second if you're expecting rain, since the formula favours getting heavy runs late.
