Agree, some risk Dunk slightly weakens. Although, given trend, is Danger going the same way and could he be 110 this year.

Age for Dunks and Bont though are also favourable and reason to argue they could improve too given 2H skew. Neale could keep getting attention or maybe some goes to Lyons/Zorko again.

To me, downside risk is greater in a Fyfe from role change, injury risk in a Kelly. The Dogs bye round is a positive.

Treloar started to balance DE and accumulation, could be flat this year.
Danger is under consideration for me, but I’ve slotted in Fyfe instead for the time being.

What’s the role risk in Fyfe? He plays forward? I don’t really see Freo being rich with inside mid options so am not buying that he suddenly becomes a forward. Sure he will rest forward but that’s been his strength to increase TOG and squeeze out those extra points. Injury risk is a bigger concern with Fyfe. But that’s usually a reason to start him as it puts him in the “start or forget” category

Starting both Kelly & Fyfe to risky?

Kelly I see upside in and Fyfe I just love having in my team but both come with injury risks.
I’m asking myself the exact same question. I rate the scoring potential of both but as you say, the injury risk is real. I started Fyfe last year and traded JKelly in and out, there was a golden period where I had both last year as well..!

Much less risky than starting a bunch of mid pricers who you can't fix if things go wrong. Having Fyfe from the start last year, despite the elbow risk and previous years # games played risk was an absolute joy. He wasn't cheap last season either, albeit not $650k!

Price altert. Tom 'the pig' Rockliff is under $500k.

Sorry, not sure what came over me there. But his team mate who was forward eligible last year was apparently playing injured late last season and still went 107. Not in my side but I think he might suffer the 'not forward eligible' bias and be under selected this year.

dangerfield was first picked in my team. take his score of 26 out against essendon he averaged 120 for the year. with kelly gone and selwood slowing down, he will be by far the number 1 man in that midfield. in my opinion will be a top 3 mid this year. danger has been super durable over the years to missing 6 games in 9 years.
My worry with Danger is who is going share the tag with him at least with Kelly playing so well last year he drew the tag at times which released Danger and depending on what Selwoods role is he may be no help with the tag either. I can’t see the young blokes Narkle, Constable, Parfitt and Simpson being tagged. All this makes me wonder what affect on Dangers scoring will be. We should know after round one with Geelong playing GWS first up. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Travis Boak wins his second John Cahill Medal as Port Adelaide's best and fairest player for 2019.
The 31-year-old polled 179 votes to finish 11 votes ahead of defender Darcy Byrne-Jones, who was a further vote clear of third-placed Dan Houston.

The medal caps a brilliant 13th season for Boak, who played 21 games and averaged 30 disposals and five clearances.

"There's been a lot of people write me off the last two or three years and say I shouldn't even be in the side," Boak told the Port Adelaide faithful.

"It's not nice to hear those things, they certainly hurt a little but for me it's about going out there and just trying to be the best person, the best player you can be and that's all I can do."

Yeah, Fyfe to play more somewhat more forward. Brayshaw, Bewley and Cerra to play more mids was the talk. Hogan out doesn't help, although, hopefully helps Sturt get a game. McCarthy to play up the field a bit.

Always talk this time of the season with mids playing fwd more. Bit like Dunkley comment.

We did see late last year he had the odd game forward. Started him last year which was a winner as unique to an extent.

fyfe will be in the midfield and rest forward like you said. his the best in the game for a reason and worth the risk of injury in my opinion. sitting at M2 from my first team and hasn’t moved.

Thoughts on McCluggage. Goal kicking midfielders are gold. Can see this guy moving into elite. Just a matter of this year or next ..
his been in and out of my team. will he be a top 12 midfielder i don’t think so, will he average over 105 to justify the price tag i don’t think he will. that’s why his not in my team.

I will probably start one mid breakout contender .. he seems to tick all the boxes. Walsh another option ..

I don’t mind the pick and he has been in my team at stages but think I prefer Worpel for a little bit extra. An increase in TOG and natural progression could see him average 110 or so I reckon. I don’t think Mitchell will have a negative impact on his scoring.

That golden period is what makes Supercoach enjoyable, watching the players you love watching score points! At this stage I've only got Fyfe but if Kelly has a faultless pre-season then I'll probably go him as well.

As a Carlton supporter I'm full of hope atm, on that basis I'm considering Jack Newnes, mature body, changed clubs over summer = extra motivation to do well. Role clarity with new coach. Thinking he may float from back flank, wing and possible mid time. Priced at $386.4k and can see a potential increase of $100k thus a stepping stone to a fallen/premium. I could get another cheap rookie, but, he's all but guaranteed a regular game, rather than the rookie roulette.

I don’t think I’ve recovered from the Newnes burns of years gone by so he and one T Rockliff will never be considered again!

As a Blues man, what are your thoughts on Walsh this season in terms of SC?
