Like I said before it was only the vibe from those reports that I did not like. If JLo plays him more forward maybe it is because he wants to give him the best chance of extending his playing career. Thats's purely spec by me but perhaps at 28 JLo wants another 5 years out of a top player and club leader and this is his way of getting it. The pre season games will be very interesting.

I don't have in my team but not because of any possible change in his role. I left him out because he is always a risk of missing games. I think he is one of those guys you start or you stay right away. Nothing worse than seeing him blitz it for the first 10 rds you traded him in and then he gets a 3 week inj.
It's what makes all this banter (and SC in general) so intriguing. If the coach has the green light from the club for a 5 year like plan to be at the pointy end of the ladder by then it would make sense to ensure that Fyfe was still there whilst giving opportunity to develop the younger guys in that period. The downside of not having Fyfe in your SC team is that there will be periods where he just goes plain nuts and you really want him in your team. As for pre season there is no need to flatten players like Fyfe so in all likelihood he may play a minor role so the club can work through identifying some of their younger options and how they may structure. Fyfe is good enough to just parachute out of the sky on game day round 1 and fit in to any team/structure without any pre knowledge. I do want him in my starting team, but i've only narrowed my starting mid wants down to 9!

Yeah this is an interesting one, Bonar with his forward eligibility is slightly in front for me and also the fact that it seems Wills and Sier are really battling it out for that one spot in the Pies round 1 line-up.

I'm sure Bonar is fighting for a spot also, maybe Jed Anderson but not sure but this is one that the Marsh series will work out for me.

I think guys like Fyfe who have naturally lean frames and bulk up will always be susceptible to injuries. If you look at footage of his first year he is stick thin. Gold Coast wanted O'Meara to be ready for his first year by playing him sparingly in the NEAFL and keeping him in the gym. Tiger Woods is an example from another sport who decided he was too skinny and just smashed himself with weights. Would have won 40 majors had he never lifted a weight! I think at Fyfe's price you wait for the injury or the tag which also lets you assess his role with a new coach. If you started with Grundy, Macrae and one other top mid (there seem to be a few to choose from) you easily have the VC/C covered. Fyfe is also most likely the second player in the loophole and you won't have any fingernails left.

I recall one of the articles on Bonar was had him fighting with near on half a dozen for a spot. Firm watchlist.

This discussion on Fyfe now has spooked me and I’m thinking Danger over Fyfe is the better call
Don’t mean to double spook you but the Cats have the Giants (De Boer) round 1 and the Eagles (Hutchings) round 3 so Danger could cop the hard tag twice in the first three rounds.

He might still be hard to bring in with round 4 or 5 being too early to do an upgrade and he might then go on a tear. Rowsus made a pretty good case for him.

Fyfe is easily the worst option out of the top 11 priced mids for simple value.

He's the 3rd highest priced out of the lot, and is probably 9-10th for a mix of avg and aggregate.

He'll probably beat Treloar on average and maybe pip Jelly on aggregate.

If he was $600k, it'd be a very different story.

always thought Yeo went to Dangerfield
Either way, it’s likely someone from WC will tag him. Danger’s last three SC scores against Eagles including finals is 85, 94 and 100 for an average of 93.
Historical averages , very interesting.

Might be better off not starting him and looking at another option.

He has the Suns in R2 to boost his 3-Rd average so all good...(y)

Starting to see a lot of people trying to poke holes in some of the absolute guns of the comp eg Fyfe Danger and Cripps. You can poke holes and try and find a reason why almost any of these top players should/shouldn't be good picks but at the end of the day if you want to build a club from the ground up you're picking fyfe over ed curnow. Same logic applies in supercoach more often than not the best players in the comp are the best in supercoach. Maybe we're overthinking these issues of danger's age, fyfe moving forward and cripps' inconsistencies because the options below these guys you can question a lot more. I will say though this is supercoach and anything can happen but I won't be stressing about picking these guys in my starting team.... until they ping a hammy in round 2 haha.
