Hi @Herbie66, I think your player's nicknames for players are very clever, after I find out who they are. The problem is I don't catch on quickly and I often really can't appreciate who you are talking about.
I'm not asking you to stop giving players nicknames, just if it is possible, could you put in brackets the person you have nicknamed. That way I could appreciate your cleverness and also relate to the article you are writing about.
Last year, I didn't work out who Scottish Suitcase (McCLuggage) was until someone mentioned it in this forum. Very clever, but at the time you were referring to him, I didn't know who you were talking about.

No worries Bermi , me bad , I was told not to use nicknames during the Big Bash season as well (but others were allowed to so I continued doing so) , so from now on I will (try to) only use surnames and in the case of a common surname , I will use a Christian name as well eg Devon Smith.
Kennedy , Joshua J is the West Coast Eagles one.

Lynch , Thomas Telford is the Adelaide one.

Don't get me wrong Herbie66, I think your nicknames are clever and I really like them. I'm just suggesting you put in brackets, after the nickname, who you are talking about.

Caleb Daniel in the prospectus:
"Daniel flourished in his new role and was one seven general defenders in the AFL to rate elite for both AFL player rating points and Champion Data ranking points. He became a prolific ball winner and ranked fourth in his position for disposals per game, however his turnovers were costly, conceding a score from 36% of his turnovers - the highest percentage of the top 100 turnover players. Daniel's only match-ups over 40 minutes were when he was tagged, allowing him to shine as an interceptor - rating elite for intercept possessions per game."
He had 88 kick ins with 85.2% of these being kicks to himself.
I reckon Daniel is a good pod and somebody I expect to be top 6 by years end but I feel there's better value elsewhere down back. There's also a slight concern over role but given how heavily they utilised him and how good he was last year in that role I'd be very surprised to see that change.

Zac Williams played 9 full games including finals with Whitfield in the team where he was playing in the back line and not in the midfield.
They were rounds 1-5, round 17 and the 3 finals outside of the Collingwood game.
In those 9 games he averaged 91. He was on track for a huge score vs Carlton playing in defense with Whitfield in the side but got injured on 75 before half time. He also scored 121 vs Sydney in round 6 but I haven't included that game because Whitfield copped a huge corkie early on and could barely run or move for the rest of the game.
This might just be coincidence because he was coming back from injury.
Williams played midfield from rounds 18-23 (prospectus) and against Collingwood.

Williams is currently priced to average 105. As you said, when playing in the backline with Whitfield playing, he averaged 91, hmmm, so that indicates to me that Williams is over priced to start with.
But, if Williams is selected as a Keeper, then I think he could be a top 6 defender, so a good selection.

I think there's a bit of coincidence going on as well rather than direct linkage because when they started the season with Williams on the half back flank and Whitfield on the wing/half forward flank Williams had not played much football for the previous 12 months and he probably just took his time to get going.
Still I reckon there's something in the fact that they looked to use Williams off half-back and running up the ground more often when Whitfield was not there.
