I guess you use the Top 12 from the Draft

Ash * , McAsey , Young
Rowell , Anderson , D Stephens , Serong , Green
Jackson
Henry * , Flanders * , Kropenyeri-Pickett

add Pickett

factor in the ones from the 2018 Draft Round 1 that didn't debut

McLennan
Collier-Dawkins , McHenry , O'Halloran

King , Rankine , E Smith * , Sturt

gives you a solid base to work from until Marsh games are completed and Round 1 teams are announced

Haha the funny thing is all of them will play 10+ games surely?

The Burgess’s of the world can’t be getting games anymore
The funny thing is you look at some of their players on the list and you think what the hell is going on.

Day , Fiorini , Hanley , Harbrow , Miles , Miller , Swallow , Weller , Witts , Wright
surely are solid enough.

Add in Ellis & Greenwood.

Bowes , Brodie , King , Lukosious , MacPherson

if they are all too "lazy" to develop , maybe he just say , stuff it the kids all will play 22 games regardless of the score board

They had to do that after a few years initially and the kids bodies couldn’t handle multiple weeks of afl physicality. Lots of injuries and probably stuffed a few careers.

I remember talking to one of the guys who worked with the Swans and he was telling me from a friend of his who worked at the Giants that pretty much 90% of the kids were cooked after the first 3-4 games , just the lift in intensity from training at this level to then playing was such a step up.

All they could really do was walk laps at training , and then try and field 2 sides.

You do wonder how much of this increase training loads then games while the body is still adjusting/growing does affect future injuries.

it’s looking like you need to run a 4 mid premo to pay for 6-8 170-210k rookies or you will have a bench full of donuts. the only upside is that these rookies have the potential to ave 65-75 to make up the loss of that premo mid.

Based on

Ash , Hill , McAsey /Young , $ 123,900
Rowell , Anderson , Pickett /Stephens , Serong , $ 123,900.00
/ Comben
Henry , Flanders , Kropenyeri-Pickett / $ 123,900.00 x 2

you can get

1-2-5
5-0-6
Grundy , Gawn-0-1
Whitfield -2-5

so 9-4-17 looks achievable

ash- will he get a round 1 start a gws?
hill/young- locks
rowell/picket- locks
anderson/serong- good options
green- same as ash
henry- i’m not to sure about
flanders- isn’t playing today so don’t like his chances for round 1
pickett- don’t think he will score well.

expensive rookies i’m running with
def. young
mid. rowell- anderson- serong- stephans
forward. bonar- hill
that’s pretty much 1.4m gone from the 10m just not to have donuts on the bench

But until Round 1 teams are announced no one knows who will or won't be named , by using more expensive placeholders to start you then have the easier option of going down to the < $ 123,900.00 players if they are named.

Can't understand why people fill their benches with $ 117 k players from the start and go wow look at my team , **** Round 1 teams are named and now I just lost 6-8 of my preferred premiums.

Other common names here I see

Starcevich , Williamson , Brander , McLennan , Gould , Rivers
Bytel , Simpson , McHenry
Georgiades

probably 6-12 F/M

just need to lock in Carlton & Richmond players and use the higher priced rookies as placement until rookies are confirmed , that's my thinking anyway

Except you lose the two best guns in the competition
from last year ? yes they were

as for this year ? we can't answer that now , but yes I in particular will be starting them both if they are named Round 1

doesn't it all depend where you spend that loose change though , theoretically you should be able to start a extra 2 premiums in the mids

hypothetically 2 rookie Rucks could even score more than 2 similar priced rookie mids on the field if 2 are named.

In reality I doubt 2 of Jackson , Sweet & Xerri are even named Round 1.

yeh a lot of the 123k/117k rookies aren’t getting named, if they don’t play in the practice matches they won’t get named in round 1, good downgrade options for later. just got that feeling we are going to have to fork out the extra cash this year for the starting rookies

Good plan, but why do I get the feeling there will be some random Carlton/Richmond rookie named in the first match that everyone jumps on due to that match locking out earlier who ends up being a :poop:selection. Seems to happen most years.

''Cameron said speedy half-back Lachie Ash who, "like Green, is already built like a man" has put his name up as a contender for round one selection''.

Still a watch and see preseason, I read another quote where Cameron talked about Ash and Williams running off of hb together, i think the Giants took him as someone who could make an early impact in a contending team, whether or not that means a R1 debut who knows. Rookie spots in team at the Giants are no easy feat to break into.

If I knew which, I wouldn't pick them (obviously). Doubt it'll be Pickett, he's one we should be able to confidently lock in.
Certainly hope so (with Pickett)

some very hungry Tigers wanting Ellis spot , so competition will be pretty hot on every player to perform each week.

The problem is that people start freaking out that there’s no guaranteed rookies going to get named after the Carlton/Tigers game.. so they’ve picked a rookie they knew was going to be **** but at least was going to be a warm body in the bench.
