FWIW I had them as:

Walsh, 87 (CAR)
Miers, 67 (COL)
Atkins, 60 (GEE)
Rozee, 78 (PTA)
Duursma, 74 (PTA)
Butters, 61 (PTA)
Drew, 72 (PTA)
Wilkie, 71 (STK)
Smith, 77 (WBU)

I don't have the starting price on hand for each of them though ...

- Also don't see PTA bringing in as many this year again ... they went very hard in the draft and played them for the future ...

- I might not like the coach but he at least adhered to the old mantra of getting 50 games into them ASAP !!
It’s interesting in that they were all pretty decent scorers despite being such a small number in total. And despite such a small list I still didn’t have Wilkie, Rozee or Smith. I recall some of mine going missing early eg Scott.

Also interesting is that over half were were premium priced to some extent. Atkins, Wilkie, Drew and Miers weren’t IIRC. I reckon the rest were.

Looking back I think I missed almost half of them ...

- Rozee I had in draft teams but got put off by price ....
- Only had Duursma, Wilke, Drew, Butters and Walsh from memory ... so missed out on 4 of them ...

There might be a lesson there. I wonder how this stat went in earlier years? There is a reluctance to pay for premium priced rookies but that said not all premium priced rookies work out. I’d say the strike rate would be higher though.

great to see

on the other side of the coin , do you also have the list of players that played 6+ in the first 7 rounds and scored < 60 , just curious how many of those their were.

suspect Constable & Hore were also over 60 but didn't play enough games to start with.

I think I had 4 of those 9 , recall most didn't pick Rozee because his preseason form wasn't anything special and Smith was too expensive.

Remember picking Collins , Gibbons , Scott , Setterfield etc etc.

Just shows you really need to nail the majority of the rookies from the start.

Yes, I was checking out your rookie tracker again earlier, and noted that Hinkley had certainly played the kids, as had Chris Scott. They are both frustrating in their own ways (eg Hinkley not playing players in position, Scott with his late outs). but you can't knock them when it comes to delivering rookies last year.

You may already have seen this, but if you ever need historical player prices they're available on Footywire:

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pu-port-adelaide-power--connor-rozee
Interesting to look at ... without tracking it I'd say that GEE don't give their depth opportunities ...

- Got a lot of depth though and have been playing them compared to other teams ...

I'm not liking the rookies in the midfield. Rowell and Pickett are locks but who after that?

Budarick should play Round 1 now. Anderson, Ash, Serong and Stephens may get early games but they're a bit more expensive. McHenry, Collier-Dawkins, Close are all 50/50 at best for Round 1. I don't see Rivers, Starcevich, Bianco or Robertson playing Round 1 despite their current popularity.

I think the forwards actually have much more choice. Hill, King, Rankie, Brander, McAdam, Sturt, Davis, Georgiades and Skinner all seem far better chances of making an appearance in Round 1 than a lot of the 123k mid rookies.

I'm going for 4 mid rookies at the moment but might throw a Dev Smith-type into the mids to get an extra fwd rookie.

Only recorded season averages in my tables (but do have each game score FWIW)

Does this answer your question ... could break it down even further ...

awesome

just counted them individually how many played Rd 1-7 then saw you already had a note , 39 of them.

From memory I think their was 30 something plus players under Walsh's price named for Round 1 , plenty of options , just need to select the right ones.

Hopefully this season will give us similar choices to make.

Cheers

Quick look on TooSerious indicates 30 players under $ 200k played in Round 1 last season , will list them by position , starting price & score tomorrow then try and workout their season average.

10 were over $ 140k to start with.

They usually only allow the search by increments of $ 100,000.00 to search unless their is an advanced search where you can type in a figure.

Will need to go to the library and use the PC bit hard on the phone.

Walsh was $ 207,300.00

ha ha I am doing the opposite, trying to beef up mids to ensure no fwd rookies in mids. aim is to reduce forward rookies as they typically are the worst scorers.

For those excited at the prospect of the new Buda making a debut round 1, I'm not sure it will happen. Here is a list of GC players missing from the weekends game, in particular all these defenders, Harbrow, Hanley, Ballard and Hombsch.
Ballard is out for 3 months. Some of the others on the list will not be ready for R1. No team ever has a fully fit squad to choose from so who knows on Budarick.

certainly more detailed than what I was going to present :)

TooSerious also has the following players under $ 200k playing in Round 1 last season

Keeffe (GWS) D 190,500
McKay (NM) D 123,900

Jones (ADL) M 171,500
Sparrow (MEL) M 117,300

I always find it interesting that we tend to only just look at first year players for our starting teams and overlook those that have been in the system and are similarly priced.

Too Serious shows that in Round 1 last season we had 30 players under $ 200,000.00 that were selected to base our teams on

Defenders - 11 Keefe , Rozee * , Collins , Scrimshaw , Clark , Duursma * , Wilkie , Burgess * , Joyce , Mckay , Hore

Midfield - 13 LDU , Smith, Jones , Butters , Setterfield * , Duursma * , Constable , Drew * , Wagner , Scot t, Sparrow , Atkins , Gibbons

Forward - 11 Rozee * , Blakey , Setterfield * , Brander , Balta , Burgess * , Drew * , Miers , Petrucelle , Parker, Schultz

Highlighted names were over $ 123,900.00 starting price

I am certainly not qualified to say when to begin upgrade/downgrades, a lot more experts here than me but after Round 6 the only players that had made the magical $ 150,000.00 were :-

Wilkie 182, 200 Ave 69
Constable 179,100 Ave 81
Miers 175,500 Ave 70
Drew 169,800 Ave 76
Duursma 166,300 Ave 72
Scrimshaw 164,700 Ave 70
Rozee 154,200 Ave 81

Given their averages I doubt we were playing them on the bench, so would we dowgrade them or hold them for extra points and $$$ ?

Interesting to see what we do if our bench players are not making enough $$$ after Round 6.

I guess that is why the great coaches are great.

Well, and just like that Rowell has to sit at M5.

I know, i know the rookies will come but I can't stand the sight of some of them sitting on my ground even at F6/D6 atm. We are going to need 3-4 to really come from the clouds (to make round 1 let alone play 10 games) in order to keep 5 mids and Gawn.

We’ve only had 5 official preseason games to look at yet... relax grasshopper!
