Is Roberton worth spending 260k vs. a HIll/Ash type. Obviously I'd rather have a 123ker who will play, but I guess Roberton has shown in the past the capability of being a keeper. He rarely plays a full season, even with his recent issues.

He seemed to be taking a lot of the kick ins at their practice match on Friday v Hawthorn. Might help his scoring if this continues. Not sure on his durability.

Roberton is dependent for me on the next Marsh game, would need to show a little bit for me to start him but again depends on what other rookies might be avaible and their scoring potential. Awkward price, he won't post keeper scores IMO either on aggregate or average.

Yeah, agree with this... save $100k+ by downgrading him and probably only lose 10 points each week... provided you can find a DEF rookie with JS!

He's definitely not a keeper whichever way you look at it.

good timing with this Roberton discussion think noble is a better option
As in Collingwood Noble? A guy that has played 3 games and never scored above 64 in an AFL game. Roberton clearly comes with risk but IMO I cannot see Noble being a better option based on exposed form or even allowing for improvement.

Perhaps CJ from Hawthorn? At least he has scored above 80.

I'm looking at Noble vs. Roberton and thinking Noble comes out ahead. If he scores 80+ next game he's more valuable than Rowell is he not?
Rowell should be a good pick but I don't think we should expect another Walsh. Different types. Rowell will cop a lot more hits as an inside mid.
I have Roberton as a break glass in case of emergency pick so Noble at a cheaper price gets picked first.

What are people thoughts on Liam Baker – $403,900 DEF/FWD – 120pts from 87% TOG (unfortunately round 13 bye)

I think if you're picking Roberton you're hoping he'll be a quasi-keeper averaging in the 80-85 range. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. If he's just going to score in the 70s you could probably save 50k-70k and go for someone like Jaith/Zerk-Thatcher and spend the money elsewhere.

I'm not sure he'll get there but I'll be watching the first couple of rounds and won't hesitate a correction trade if needed.

Based on this afl article, Hawthorn have plenty of defenders to cover Hardwick, but Greaves last on the list possibly.

Cept Kosi is out with a shoulder and Jeka is pretty fresh. I doubt we play TOB back in place of Hardwick. Possibly they play CJ but that's no surety. Marsh 2 will tell more.

Costs more, has inferior JS and likely will average less. Can't see how that makes him more valuable. Or am I missing something?
