Their was an article saying he'd play more forward during the marsh series and I wonder if that is something that continues going forward.
Maybe, but I can guarantee that any of those three put in a big qtr he’ll be moved straight to them. We are talking about Cameron, not Buckley.
I’d be pretty certain he’ll line up on some of those big names and keep a close eye.

Yeah I have no doubt that he will it’s just a question of if he tags less in general or tags defenders (i.e Saad R4 instead of Zerrett)

Just about set, depending on rookie selection. Ive put a fair bit of time into rookie research, hopefully dont have to alter too much when the teams drop.

DEF: I've had Crisp the last 3 years, and im willing to go again. Incredible durability, and looks to be getting up the ground a far bit. Think he can finish as a Top 8 DEF for both pts/ave, especially with a few older guys on the slide. Hardwicks injury sold me sicily completely, if you take out the 40 game where he played permo forward last year, he's already averaging the same as Laird. Massive upside and ceiling, wouldnt be surprised to see him as the number 1 defender. Noble has greater JS than BZT & Cumming, and think he can average similar to Roberton (mid 70s-80) and will have learnt alot from 2 finals and another AFL preseason.

MID: Macrae, Oliver and Dangerfield are all extremely durable and consistent selections. Top 8 for TP & Av. I've had Bont since right before JLT1, but the ownership swing with Dunkley (now down to 11%) is ridiculous for a player of his ceiling. He's the type that could start with a 5rd average of 130, and at that sort of ownership im willing to take him as a semi-pod. Kelly off a full preseason is a scary proposition.

RUCK: Im viewing Naismith as rookie, with this years crop of rookies, cash generation is so important and I think 150k is definitely achievable here. If his body can hold up until Franklin comes back into the side for presumably Sinclair, his scoring could push up even more. Im willing to bet against Gawn averaging 130 through the first 8 rounds, I don't see it achievable with 4 tough SC scoring matchups (Nic Nat, Ryder/Marshall, Witts, Lycett). I'd love to start Gawn, but the compromise it does to the rest of my team I feel isn't worth it. I considered Ceglar F3 instead of Trac for Naismith coverage, but I think his Marsh 2 game was an indication of his ceiling rather than potential average. If Naismith does get injured, i'd rather burn the extra trade to fix it by downgrading a premo elsewhere.

FWD: I didnt really want to start Whitifield but im scared about falling too far behind, especially if Gawn gets off to a flier. Harmes moving to HB is enough to sell me Trac, and ive been very big on Brayshaw since early preseason, Marsh 2 locking him in for me. I want to avoid King at all costs, hopefully Rankine or someone else is named. Starcevich at M9 for now gives me some wiggle room with rookies.

Thanks to eveyrone that has read this far, this forum has been a massive assistance this preseason and I would greatly appreciate some feedback :)

Wow, that's *really* similar to my team, which means it's ?. I think you're set till team names.

EDIT: I don't think you need to fear skipping Whitfield if that's what you want to do. Expensive players who aren't captaincy options can't hurt you that bad even if they get off to a flyer. 140s will annoy but they won't maim, and they won't last forever.

I think Oliver won't be a bad starting selection looking at it from an end of season perspective. But I am fully expecting that De Boer tags him to a 55-60 in R2 so come round two he'll probably be sitting on an 85 or so average which just would feel bad but not the end of the world provided his next two rounds are back to 110
Anyone think that de Boer's ability to clamp down on players might be lessened this year? Seems to me that we see it all the time, a certain tagger becomes the most lethal in the comp, no one can escape etc. Then eventually their effectiveness seems to lesson. There was a time when Jacobs was the key tagger to avoid, there were times when you planned around Raines putting someone out of the game.

Seems like that apart from Creepy Crowley most taggers lose their aura after a while...

Post Marsh premium/mid price changes

Whitfield and parish out

Petracca and Andrew Brayshaw in

This was to allow the increase rookie prices and go deeper in the fwd line

Structure/players have stayed the same otherwise

I doubt if we have seen a team with 14 prospective keepers from the start.

Very well balanced thought out team , love the justification and reasoning behind all of your selections.

Obviously you have weighed up the pros and cons of starting Naismith.

Certainly looks very viable if indeed all those bench rookies are named Round 1.

Good luck

Think I’m pretty happy to sit on this ones until teams drop.

Sicily, Doc, Roberton, Noble, BZT, Starcevic, Brander, Watson

Macrae, Kelly, Cripps, Danger, Oliver, Rowell, Green, Pickett, Robertson, Sharp, Budarick

Grundy, Gawn, Xerri

Dusty, Trac, Lynch, Steven, Smith, Taylor, King, Rankine.

Squeeze into 14 “premiums” + Roberton & Noble. Removing the F5 rookie still at the forefront of my mind and this feels like the best way to achieve it without too much compromise.

I’m comfortable enough with condensing Trac & Lynch into Whitfield & Rookie if it looks like we’ll need some pricier bench options though I’d much prefer to avoid it.

25 of the same players from my squad mate. Hopefully we are on the right track.

Carbon copy of what I've gone for. Except I went Bont and A Brayshaw instead of Oliver and Petracca because... not much really.
