I would concur with your 'certain' Premiums comment for Rucks & MIDs, however other lines are much more open in my view.

In DEF, I have Lloyd and probably Hurn (if fit) in the 'certain' category, then there's a wrath of options below that who'll be tightly bunched.

Go to the FWD and I would have Whitfield (if fit) and Dusty (if interested) as the 'certainty', then you have guys like Walters, Heeney, Cameron & Greene who'll be thereabouts. I've lost count on how many potential break out/value candidates who've had their names thrown about during preseason.

If you look hard enough for those perceived 'value' in DEF and FWD, then I don't think you have to compromise too much with regards to your starting Keepers. Guys like Docherty, Roberton, Steven, Smith, etc will go a long way into helping that cause. I know that I myself have had to change my outlook on them after trying to avoid them like the plague prior to Marsh.

Of the top 12 players on average in 2019; 6xDEF and 3xFWD had a starting price of less than $450K so they do exist.
Agreed, I actually meant certainty across lines but your point is important.

Howe looks absolutely supreme yesterday (as he did in the SOO game) and very tempting at his price, he's another who I feel is under priced going into the season. The Pies back 6 looks very settled and I think they will be one of the top defending teams this season. He looks to own that intercepting role and took almost every kick ins as far as I can tell.

The elephant in the room for me is Moore as he also looks beasty and can do almost everything that Howe can. That's the one thing stopping me from committing to Howe at this stage.

I think Crisp will be released more up the ground with this structure and I think he'll go close to the benchmark, he's one of the DEF guys who has a strong case of being that 100+ player. I own him all of last season for this exact reason so I don't know if I still have the patience for him.
2019 was Howe's 1st season at Collingwood below 90 (avg of 92.67 from 58 matches prior).
2019- Lowest disposals avg since 2015, lowest tackles avg since 2013, highest DE% of his career, lowest contested marks avg since 2015.
3/19 matches below 10 disposals in 2019 compared to 3 below 10 disposals from his previous 58 matches.

J Howe:
2019:
Avg with D Moore: 72.5 from 12
Avg without D Moore: 91.57 from 7

Howe was injury ravaged last season so I would discount that when assesing his prospect.

I do agree that the emergence of a fit Moore does have a bearing on his overall output.

They also have that awkward bye with players such as Cripps,Docherty,Oliver,Grundy,Gawn,Fyfe,Dusty,TJL,Lloyd.

Also just having a look at their fixture in the first 6 weeks those teams going on previous seasons have loads of I50s

Now that most of us have jumped on BZT, thoughts on what impact Hooker has when he returns? Furthermore, more McKenna didn't play today either, noting McKenna would play on a shorter opponent.
Ive been reading a few posts on Mckenna playing fwd

Pies FWD structure looks a mess.

Have tweaked my defence (just in case)

Sicily , Docherty , Roberton , Noble , Ash , Guthrie / BZT , McAsey

Hoping at least 3 of Starcevich , Williamson , Brander , Watson & Williams are named Round 1 as I would prefer them to Ash , Guthrie & McAsey

still leaves 5 premium mids , Grundy & Gawn , Whitfield & my 3 underpriced forwards

Looks the line to go light in , I am still not overly confident in the JS of 3 of them so hopefully the cheaper ones appear and have better JS

Sounds like Noble must have got Bucks "How to kick the football for Dummies" book over the Xmas , looked liked a frightened deer in headlights to me last season.

Just to add to the Ash , Cumming , Kennedy , Perryman , Shaw , Whitfield , Williams etc debate/dilemna according to the Prospectus Sam J Reid played 89% of his game time in defence last season in a shut down role on small forwards , recording 15 matchups - the second most of any general defender.

Reid played 26 games last season.

And just so people know :-

Corr 195cm
Davis 197cm
Haynes 193cm
Taylor 196cm

Cripps by comparison is 195cm , Bont 193cm & Fyfe 192cm

Look at you two.

A season paired up in the BBL doubles and you’re like an old married couple!
