I assume 17 rounds will mean no SC finals. Each team would just play each other once for the season.

Looks as though many cash leagues will require a revised payout structure.
Will they even be able to reprogram all of this in such a short amount of time? I don't think we've ever had a game cancelled let alone entire rounds. They're going to need to completely overhaul Leagues, the fixture, probably trades and player price increases (if top-up players are brought in later on) too.

Probably get 8/9 home games like everyone else , hardly our fault we have "away" games at the MCG , can't fly to NZ and play them at a neutral venue.

Where do you suggest the Essendon home game against Collingwood be played ?

Eddie had the right idea , play 6 away games in Sydney at Homebush every season, take the people's club to the people ?

Remind me again how many interstate games Essendon have each season ?
This year would have been six, which I think is around the norm.

Geelong vs Adelaide was cancelled after Phil Walsh's death. They treated it as a bye.
This is an entirely different situation however.

I don’t know how hard it would be for them to implement on their end but starting head to heads round 1 and playing 4 double up rounds against 2 opponents would be one way around it.

How will the SC system handle a revolving fixture, top-up players, etc.? I don't know if it's as well built as the FPL game which has to constantly deal with fixture changes every year. This is unprecedented. Be interesting to see how they deal with it.
Yes I know it will be challenging for them I just can’t see them giving up on it.

Probably will. How can they even run comp like SC with such a compromised season? I doubt anyone will be winning $50k.
It's just a game. There will still be an end of season and they can declare a winner at that point. Whoever adapts the best wins. Whether they can justify the $50k or they can manage the software with a changing fixture is another question. The biggest problem would be if games from different rounds overlap because player prices are based on a total fixed pool of money after each round.

How about BBL SC? Any random fixture changes in that comp over the years that they’ve had to adapt to? @THCLT anything that you can remember?
The closest I can think of is EPL where there are fixture changes as teams get to the pointy end of knock out competitions which cause bye rounds and double game rounds. Some rounds have so few teams playing that we see some really low scores, but then that gets counter balanced with DGWs in the following weeks.

Im really liking the sound of 18 Scores on field (bye round rules) for every 17 rounds. don't need to pay for those extra ugly duckling rookie scores.

Well they could start price changes after R1 to kickstart team building
Yeah you would think they’d need to make some adjustments. Maybe price changes every 2 games and less trades (which I’d be all for).

I figure they’ll just make as few changes as possible to the gameplay to get something workable, in preparation for the curveballs they’ll no doubt get.

That would be the other mob who probably have a few less cogs in the machine to worry about.

I’m just reminded of how they handled the scores from players who weren’t listed in BBL. From memory they were just allocating pts to random non playing players.

Might be indicative of how difficult it might be for them to make changes outside of what’s been setup from day 1, especially if AFL teams will be plucking players from the state leagues when they’re needing to rest players.

We could see an awful lot of random pt allocating to players who haven’t actually played.

KFC SuperCoach and the new $1 million tips.com.au competition will go ahead for the AFL’s revamped 17-round season, announced on Mondau to cope with the impact of the coronavirus.
The Herald Sun will release more details when the AFL settles its new fixture.

But the exciting message is, KFC Supercoach and tips.com.au are alive.
