Most if not everyone is taking a hit, even if the season goes ahead 5he majority of jobs that were involved in the football industry last season won’t be there, security contracts, catering, cleaners, transport, merchandise, buskers whatever, they’ll still be largely gone. Yes a few will keep there jobs for the sake of some highly paid sportsman and officials but most of the Joe and Jill citizen jobs will still be lost. Ed will be okay, Danger will be okay but that bloke serving hotdogs to pay his rent won’t be.
We will be confined to our homes soon , country will be in total lockdown by the end of the month (if not sooner)

So AFL are saying they are leaving the final decision on round 1 until tomorrow, it's off I reckon, will be too much pressure from other codes.

I'm going fishing
Just came back last week from my 10 day annual fishing trip in exmouth in WAs north west, epic time. Left late Feb when coronavirus was a distant thing in another world, me and my mates talked fishing and footy without wives or kids to interrupt us.

Good bunch of blokes, 11 eagles supporters and 1 (shudder) pies supporter.

We were all looking forward to watching eagles home games this year, came back as things were ramping up and know we really dont think any footy is gonna happen.

Im with yea mate if i have to go into isolation, i know where I'm heading, straight back to exmouth camping and fishing!

We’ve had one confirmed case here in the NT, and that was a visitor from NSW so touch wood things are looking okay here. I’m not sure given that we 3 roads in and 2 airports, why we haven’t self isolated the NT from the rest of Aus and just allowed essential movements in and out.
In fact we could probably run the AFL season from NT and get 22 games in for each club.

Last count SA was up to 30 from 20.

Wayne Bennett actually suggested relocating the NRL sides to Cairns & Darwin and placing the teams in isolation to play out the season.

Makes sense to get them out of the major population centres , less people , less spread assumingly.

Shut all the borders , federal and state/territory.

Well it was just announced that a kids parent at my school has tested positive for COVID-19

The thing that surprises me is that the school is reluctant to close and are putting us all at risk

Your risk is very low in actually contracting the virus.

Your risk of being significantly affected health wise is very low unless you are already immune compromised.

Your risk of dying is significantly lower than your chance of winning SuperCoach.

Pay more attention in Maths and Science.

What time is Gil's press conference tomorrow ?

Apparently the players are fighting for a 22 round season given THERE is a 40 week window for the season to operate in.

So, you'll have the mildest of colds (if you even contract C19) and get to stay at home for two weeks by self isolating (with genuine reason regardless). Not seeing the downside yet.

Fellow students will pay more attention to you, and have to use Video Chat. You'll find out which girls really like you. win win

This was from one of the herald sun articles.

"Five fewer rounds will make it tougher to get your team to “full-premium” status using the popular guns-and-rookies approach. The fastest way to trade to a top scorer will be by nailing your starting mid-price selections. Say Lachie Whitfield ($604,100, FWD-MID) starts the campaign slowly and Christian Petracca ($441,300, FWD) dominates from the outset in his new midfield role. In one trade, you’ll be able to turn a player who started in the dangerous mid-price bracket such as Petracca into a season keeper. "

"3. RETHINK YOUR ROOKIE STRATEGY
How many rookies do you want to field when cash generation is going to be tough? KFC SuperCoaches found it tough to pinpoint the standout rookies throughout pre-season and that’s arguably only going to be more difficult now."

The journalist seems to be implying that cash will be generated differently. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.
Aah, ok. Reads like it's their subjective view on the strength of the rookie crop.
Maybe they mean that the younger players might be rested for some games or that some might not get games because more AFL-ready top-ups might be preferred at times (like Dale Thomas or someone)?
Not sure. But see what you were going off.

Keep positive and chin up, no doubt you’ll be fine and tbh If you were ever going to get it, getting it early and having resources available would be the best option. We are all part of this, we each need to just do our part whether we contract it or not and get through the best we can to the other side.

A life lesson for all.

It takes more energy to hate someone than it takes to love someone.

Love with all your heart. Ignore those that require hate.
Just adding to that.
Hating someone means they "own" a piece of your thinking, time and life.
The best thing to do is just forget them. If they have wronged you, forgive them. Not for their sake, but for yours, so you can move on, and they no longer own a piece of your thinking/mind/life.

Not sure where they are planning on playing all of these games after September? The cricket T20 World Cup is supposed to be happening from October, and I suspect that takes out a lot of the better options.
