GOOD NEWS FOR BUDARICK!
Michael Whiting has more on youngster Izak Rankine's latest hamstring injury...
Izak Rankine will have to wait a little longer to make his AFL debut after Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew confirmed the precocious talent had suffered another hamstring setback.
Rankine, taken with the third pick in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, did not play a senior game last year, hampered by two separate hamstrings injuries.
The 19-year-old was set to debut on Saturday night against Port Adelaide, but sustained a slight tear on Monday.
"How bad that is we're not sure," Dew said.
"He's already back running … given the short time frame he'll be a day-by-day.
"We're all desperate to see him play … (but) I think it gets back to making sure we do everything right. We're committed to getting it right together."
Captain Jarrod Witts has overcome a broken foot and completed a full training session at Metricon Stadium on Thursday to confirm his place against the Power.
Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson and Connor Budarick are all likely to debut, while two-time premiership Tiger Brandon Ellis and former Adelaide midfielder Hugh Greenwood will also play their first game for premiership points in Suns colours.
Forward Alex Sexton completed some jogging but needs another week to overcome the hamstring tear he suffered against the Crows two weeks ago.
