Dunkley hurts but with massive scores v Carlton hopefully he bounces back in a big way. Don't think it was a mistake to pick him. Had Cavarra E with the idea to choose to loop him on with Rankine but when BJ Williams was dropped and I decided to keep him, I didn't want to run the risk of running a D8 doughnut and an F8 doughnut for multiple weeks, and decided to field Cavarra over King or Ben Davis.

The more "intercept defenders" killing it again tonight.

Howe 110 DT / 156 SC
Crozier 79 DT / 115 SC
Maynard 76 DT / 104 SC
Caleb Daniel 63 DT / 92 SC
Keath 71 DT / 79 SC
B.Williams 67 / 77 SC
Nobel 67 DT / 74 SC
Z.Cordy 33 DT / 68 SC

Not all defenders though but I'd argue these guys played a bit more "lockdown" or were not really intercepting as much

E.Wood 47 DT / 60 SC
Moore 44 / 55 SC
Crisp 59 DT / 62 SC
Madgen 23 DT / 22 SC
Roughhead 23 / 37 SC
Gardner 49 DT / 44 SC

Speaking about intercept defenders...do you still have McAsey in your team? Are you happy about his scoring prowess and JS? I'm worried about getting him because he only played one marsh game and I thought he's just covering for Doedee.

Thankfully, non Grundy owners don't have to worry about that... I mean... You'd think so

I do have McAsey in my team, the line of thinking on "intercept defenders" has helped with that selection for sure!

From the Prospectus:
  • McAsey was the No.1 rated KPP in the NAB AFL U18C, leading all KPDs for disposals, marks, intercept possessions and intercept marks.
  • Played four games as KPD in the NAB League and averaged 2.5 intercept marks and 7 intercept possessions.
  • Also played as a forward for three games in the NAB league.
Some concern that he gets used as a KPF which would be terrible for his scoring, but I think the Crows brought in Frampton so McAsey should stay in defence. The flexibility might help his JS however.

Thanks for a great analysis. You have convinced me to bring him in instead of Z.Guthrie (from Geelong)!
Lets hope he can make some decent cash! (y)

I would definitely take McAsey over him. I'm a bit concerned about the JS of Zuthrie personally. McAsey is not without JS concern but he may continue to get the nod as he seems very highly rated internally.
