How about this for a mental exercise for you all.

What are your PERSONAL TOP 5 FAVOURITE SONGS of all time? And feel free to write a line or two as to why.

Not the best songs, not songs that you think others will like. Just songs that you have either listened to and sang along to a millions times, or have some kind of meaning to YOU.

Now to have a think about mine.
Oh good idea. I’m even going to drip feed mine for the suspense!

I've started to make a short list to conside, and already have whipped up 14 songs, how the hell am I going to cut this down to a top 5? Lol, what have I done to myself here!!!
I actually started writing my top 100 last year but didn’t get very far. Extremely difficult task. I think I had 150 or so on the shortlist so ordering them and trying to cull around 50 of them was agonising!

First one is easy for me.

Played at my Grandfathers funeral. He was signed to play top division football in England before the second world war. Joined the Navy, travelled the world, met my grandmother in Perth at a dance and said I will come back and marry you. He was true to his word. Slept on the Verandah of my great grandparents house for months before he and my grandmother could afford their own house. He's in the WA Soccer Hall of Fame.
Mull of Kintyre is near Campbelltown which is part of my ancestry.

Tonight we’re going to begin counting down my personal top 5 songs of all time.

This first song was released in 2015 and is performed by my second favourite band of all time. Other favourites by this band include ‘Elephant’, ‘The Less I Know The Better’ and ‘Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind’.

Here’s number 5 in the countdown from Tame Impala with ‘Let It Happen’
