Besides continuing to post your favourite songs any time you like, just a game to fill in time.

Choose a favourite song/performer starting with the next letter in the alphabet.
Only one song.
No back to back posts.

Interesting side note about this music video... It was directed by my favourite Movie director David Fincher, who had just directed Fight Club, The Game, Se7en and Alien 3.

Fincher started his career directing Music Video's and then moved to feature films going on to direct Panic Room, Zodiac, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and TV's Mindhunter.

After a slow start, the Ls ended up being a strong list.

I’ve chosen this one as it’s the first Silversun Pickups song I ever heard, and they are well worth a listen if you haven’t before.
Thanks. I haven’t heard them before, but I like their style. I will check them out for sure.

No worries, hope you enjoy. I don’t think you can go too far wrong, but a few worth checking out would include Friendly Fires, The Wild Kind, Busy Bees, Substitution and Widow’s Weeds.

They were compared to Smashing Pumpkins in their early days.

Great!

I saw Smashing Pumpkins when I was travelling in Prague (Czech Republic) in 1998. I spent a week in Prague because I loved the old part of the city. I noticed one day that SP were playing that night and it was only costing the equivalent of AUD$10 a ticket, so surprised the tickets were available that cheap (but slightly worried I was being conned) I figured why not and a group of us bought 6.

The concert was in an ice hockey stadium and we were surprised when we arrived to see that it was less than half full, with most of the crowd on the floor and the stadium stands empty. They were supported by Reef, who were an English band famous at the time for their “Place Your Hands” song that was a hit around Europe at the time.

I still think it was the best $10 I ever spent!
