The Rolling Stones have announced the launch of ‘Extra Licks’, a six-part weekly series of special online featurettes featuring concert films from across their career.

Broadcast on the rock veterans’ official YouTube channel, the series begins this Sunday at 8pm BST (12pm PT / 3pmET). You can watch a teaser trailer below.

It will be the first time any of the footage has been made available digitally, and will include footage from performances on the 1994 Voodoo Lounge Tour and the 2016 Latin America Ole! Tour.

Something different for Letter X:

Jimi Hendrix ............closing out Woodstock with a searing rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,”........ It’s seen today as one of the greatest moments of his career.........admitting he had only slept eight minutes the night before. “I’m an American, so I played it.......Hendrix was once a member of the 101st Airborne Division...........

Letter Z:

Led Zeppelin didn't release singles in the UK, where it was considered gauche. In America "Whole Lotta Love" was the first song they allowed as a US single, and it became their biggest hit, going to #4 (their only Top 10 entry). Many of Zeppelin's most popular songs were not released as singles.

Sorry, been a few weeks!

Alive, by some Seattle band
I remember back in 2003 when I was going to my first Pearl Jam concert and really hoping they would play Alive... After the tragic deaths at the 2000 Roskilde Festival, PJ pretty much stopped playing Alive entirely as it was the next song they where going to play before stopping that show after realizing something terrible was happening. After that show it was too hard for them to play it.

They played it once more in November of 2000... Then didn't start playing it again until 2003 when they came to Australia. Luckily for me they did play it in Perth. Was great to hear it live.

Given I somehow missed the 95 and 98 tours I too had to wait until 2003 to hear it
2003 tour 1/3 ( 2nd of the 3 Melb shows)
2006 tour 4/4 (Bris 1 and Melb 3)
2009 tour 2/2 (Adel and Melb)
2014 tour 1/1 as the show closer at BDO Melb

Am currently stick in an Unplugged groove, having introduced an ex girlfriend to Black..... so am watching a lot of Alive circa 1992
