What are peoples opinion Simpkin versus Viney?
As a Roos supporter - I'm expecting Jy to take that next step this year, but I would pick Viney based on is PPM and body of work to date. I know he has had a rough injury history, but that would be my pick.

However, if you want a potential breakout candidate, Jy would definitely be in that conversation - so depends what you're looking for.

The only thing I'd add to that is Jy would be more likely to fill a forward keeper role then Viney a mid keeper role.
Did Jy's game round 1 change from his games late last season in terms of role? looks like he was playing more midfield late 2019, what role did he play round 1? i know nothing about him but I do worry his scoring may fluctuate substantially, I could see a scenario where I trade Brayshaw to Jy and their scoring is reversed round 2.

Some of their mids will need to fill fwd roles alot with Turner/Garner out they only have players like Taylor,Mahony,Hosie,Zurhaar as the small/med fwds

Im surprised more people aren't worried about how Macrae will be impacted by these shorter games. As a Dogs fan, I've noticed he seems to get the majority of his disposals & points later in quarters, as his fitness allows him to get to more contests when everyone else is tiring. Im thinking the 103 he scored rd 1 is closer to what we will see from him in shorter games, and think he will average around 110-112. Anyone else got these concerns?

I agree for the most part and with so many mids at dogs im concerned for any1 with Bulldog midfielders with Beveridges magnet throwabouts. With less game time as it is spending time out of position is gonna kill coaches. I didn't want any bulldogs players in midfield this year but went with Bont around that price range with Treloar being out and Danger vs gws in rd1

I do agree with the notion that these endurance beast might be hurt a little due to the shorter quarters and that they might not be able to rack up those that term points. However, from my vague memory of that Friday night game against the Pies, the Dogs were not only smashed, but I think I recall watching it with my mate and discussing how it appeared that Dogs players were missing Macrae when he was free for the handball our by passing him with the kick. I could be wrong, and my memory might be off the mark. But that's just something that came to my mind when I read your post. Surely the Dogs can't be that bad again, can they?

They will be if they rely on reading English's tapwork. I think 1 of the 3 of the mids will ton up each week and do shizenhousen another to keep a lower avg then previous years but im happy to be wrong if they beast and we winning. =) Also if they start adding 1-2 extra interchange players it should help burst players even more and take TOG off others.

If you're looking at him as a FWD, then that changes things a bit. His midfield time will continue to increase this year as he's part of that next wave of kids, but he will definitely have stints up forward as @Kidult alluded to. He'll be spending the majority of his game time in the midfield this year though, so I wouldn't be too worried there.
