Is anyone else with a few fingers in the Melbourne and Essendon pies now chasing warm bodies to minimise donuts at the moment?

My plan was to downgrade from NicNat to Pittonet with a view to downgrading to Hill next round after having a look at him in this one, but now that I'm facing two donuts in the midfield I'm considering the option of trading out Hibberd for Stephen Hill via Starcevich to cut down my donuty goodness to one player for this round.

There's a solid countering argument for retaining Mitch Hibberd (Heppell out for maybe the season) and downgrading to Pittonet (likely signifcant cash generation and fluffing up the premo war chest without losing too much output compared to NicNat) but I'm instinctively reaching for the warm body even though there are good reasons not to.

Would you stay the course or chase that extra player this week?

It depends, but usually I’d stay the course.

A premo warm body might be worth 100, a trade is worth more than that.

Rookie cover might be worth 50, clearly a trade is worth more than that by an even bigger margin.

Unless the trade benefits your side in some other way, I would be inclined to stay the course.

I was going to trade Bennell in this round, do i still go through with the process?
First impression is that I definitely would if it doesn’t give you a donut. It’s not like he’s injured, or even part of the club that is at risk of having been exposed.

I wouldn't he could pick up calf injury b4 the game actually plays.

OF course it would be easier to stay the course if you remembered to do the bloody trade you intended to do before lockout. There goes the Pittonent cash cow move down the frigging toilet.

Now that I've missed Pittonet the only other move up my sleeve would be trading out Zerrett (who I traded in this round) for Fyfe.

Would anyone else make a corrective trade like this under the circumstances, or would you keep the extra trade up your sleeve?

1 trade left and I'm going to trade Zerrett. I've got 4 Ess/Melb players. who knows if Essendon will play next week, or even the week after. The AFL seem to be making it up as they go.

Strange days call for strange measures. It will get Whitfield's 8 out of the 18, and could win me a few leagues. Don't think it's the year to be conservative. I have my doubts the season will even finish.
