So I only have 17 on field players available on field and my non emergency players are locked because they already played. Great 2 bench scores that don't get counted while I end with a donut
Obviously wait for it to be confirmed, but that's my understanding/expectation of how it will go.
They could well end up going with just Best 18 scores from your entire 30.

This intrigues me part of the article I posted:
We understand those with stars such as Devon Smith, Max Gawn and Jack Viney or rookies such as Harley Bennell and Trent Rivers will be disappointed they won’t be part of their Round 3 score.

We hope the pay off will be already having these players in your team will give you an edge when they play a double in a few rounds’ time.

Does that mean Gawn+Oliver is must trade in asap?
Yep. Plus Petracca, Zerrett and arguments could probably be made for a Viney, McGrath and Ridley.

Case in point... my mate has Nic Nat in the ruck... He wanted Gawn this week but couldn't quite afford him and he wanted to Captain him too after last week.... So now he gets Nic Nats monster score this week, A great Captain's score, a huge Nic Nat price rise... and now the opportunity to trade him to Gawn for the double points round.

Gawn as my captain gets me a crap VC score, No chance at a price rise, and denies me the chance to "Double Dip" and trade Gawn in for a double points score.

That is beyond unfair if you ask me and definitely not the best option they could have chosen.
They should actually give the scores for that double round to whoever started with Melbourne + Bombers players before the announcement.

I tend to agree.

Not sure if Neale gets up against WC from his Freo days, but his record is decent.

I like your logic but I reckon I’ll go Neale, partly because I think SC made the wrong decision last time, so I’m not that confident they will land on the right decision this time.
Well that didn't take long ...

I would use scores from ess v melb for price adjustments but just ignore them for double points.

Got Rivers and Bennell off field before tonight’s games started in case of best 18. Unfortunately had some wasted E’s on McInerney & Cumming who I forgot to trade.

I can understand the frustration here. As someone with Gawn, Whitfield, Dusty, Jelly and what would have been a best 22 doughnut, best 18 certainly helps me and I'm rolling with the punches but it definitely unfair to others who won't be able to make distance.

Though I suppose not doing best 18 and then having a DGW anyway would be unfair, as would having scores not count. Apparently they can't make scores retroactively count for this round.

That sounds fairer... But we don't know when this make-up game is going to take place... Some of those missing players this round might not even play both games in that double round.

Not to mention the advantage $$$ wise teams that don't have many MEL or ESS players get as their players get price rises this round where my players can't. When a major part of this game is generating cash... Coaches like me are now at a severe disadvantage cash gen wise as well now.

A few questions:

1. Will the "best 18" mean the position restrictions are still applied? For example, if 11 midfielders are part of your best 18 scores will all 11 get counted or only the best 8 out of the 11?
2. If you forgot to set an emergency on a player and he's part of one of your best 18 scores then will that score still get counted?

Onfield or with EM will only be counted.

I've got 6 Melb/Ess players.

There's no indication that the game won't be played this week. Why make the decision when they don't even know?
Tend to agree, feel like a decision could've been held off until at least tomorrow morning, given both tonights games are already in play, and if Gil happened to announce what the go is with the ESS/MEL game (or if he announced it was going to be during this week) then a decision could be made.
