What is your views on my assessment of this round vs the 2x round for the Essendon + Demons players?

Those without them have to make a questionable choice of burning more trades early with rookie culling. That could leave them short on full premo by the back end. The only player of those two teams as a logical target is Gawn in my view.

Whilst it may look dodgy at this part of the season, It could benefit them coming home. In the end those who make compromised trades to target more of those players end up floundering away with injured players and non premo's they can't cover and be run down.
Can I say I would be surprised if a double round mean you get to count Ess Melb player scores twice. Particularly after bringing in best 18 to try to compensate somewhat for everyones players that miss out.

I expect if this game is played in next few days prior to round 4 then the prices of those players will adjust for those scores. If the game was to be cancelled and a draw awarded or delayed down the line, then an average will be used (suggestion may be round 1-2 scores + 2019 average to allow price adjustments in line with other players.

CD has shown a willingness to just have a result by Sunday closed and would want to be fully re-set and ready to go for round 4 when it commences.

I have Whitfield and whilst it is great that his score is not included, given I have 21 players playing this week, I lose 3 scores. even if someone only loses 3 not 4, If we have same low scores (ex Whitfield) I will still be getting one of those. reduces the pain from a 90 point hit to probably 30-50 point hit I expect.

ps looking around my leagues, Gawn holders look to cop multiple blow by missing a big score and not picking up Pittonet. Hoping the latter and maybe Naismith back soon sees my season get back on track, which will like be o***et by Darcy C getting dropped now that MacFee (who received some Collingwood merch) in America calling for Cox to be included,

Ok, best 18 it is. Does the best 18 INCLUDE E players on bench, ie I have 18/19 players on ground already and players who have played and yet to play with E on them. (Pitto, Sturt)

Team attached.
Questions:
Do I get Pittos score?
Do I get Neale as C now? (Davis non player in forwards, Sturt E)
Does Whitfields 8 drop out?
How do I maximise my score this week?

Appreciate clarification. Thanks.

Edit: 2 trades used this week, Comben to Pitto and Long to Sturt.

To be completely fair they could wipe the round I know I’m only speaking for myself but I will have the bare minimum 18 for this week have 6 melb/ess players plus Greene/dusty and a 0 on each line. Plus side is I don’t have Whitfield only Bullet I can see that I’ve dodged this round. Struggle to reach 1500

Just give the Melb/ESS players their expected round scores and move on, future game points don’t count.
Any DGR or future points through trades isn’t fair across the board and there’s few options.
I mean, for those that traded in Pittonet could potentially reap his points from this week, trade him later to Gawn and grab his double points, not sure that’s suits well with me as a Gawn holder.
Screws my Captain choice this week.

Is there an intent to award double points at some stage for Essendon and Melbourne players?
Wouldn't they just allow you to take the highest score of the two games played that week for those players? ie you get the best 22 of say 25 eligible players the week they eventually play the Melb/Ess game

Hypothetically, if I have Devon Smith or Max Gawn in my team and select him as captain, will that enable me to lock in my VC score on say Lachie Neale now?

Lots of questions on scoring, emergencies etc... I'll try to help!

This is exactly the same as a normal bye round, where Melbourne and Essendon have a bye and you get your best 18 scores.

If you have 22 on field playing, your bottom 4 scores drop out and none of your emergencies count.

If you have zeros on any line on field due to either the bye, or normal non selection (def, mid, fwd, ruck) but have an emergency who does play ON THAT SAME LINE, their score will count IF IT IS ONE OF YOUR BEST 18.

So those of you with gawn on field, but pitto emergency, you get his score.

Those of you with pitto emergency, but two playing rucks, you don't get his score even if you have zeros in another position.

Those of you with neale vc and gawn captain, you will get neale as your captain.

Hope that helps!

Next week, Dons v Blues,

What's the chance that,
Doc, Cripps, Pittonet all have a forced bye next week
i can't see why Essendon wont play next round once the players are tested and cleared...unless a bunch of players test positive.
if they don't have enough faith in testing process then they might as well call off the season.

Highly likely. Can’t see how the health authorities could reasonable not classify contact training over 2 hours as an environment of close contact and at least have all players do precautionary 14 days self isolation. Cedar Meat works lessons learned.

Much bigger stakes at play for the State and country over the next fortnight unfortunately.

If I was CD I’d come out and say rest of season is best 18 scorers. If the double game rounds occur you can include multiple scores from Ess/Melbourne players as part of your 18 scoring players for that round.

Not ideal but as close as I can come up with on how to level the playing field for everyone as this all plays out.

I agree with you on canceling the round but also like you I am biased. I have 6x Ess/Mel players plus Dusty, JKelly and Whitfield. I will be able to field the bare 18 (excluding Whitfield's 8 ) but If I had of know it was a best of 18 before the round started I could have gotten more players on field via dpp and I would have been able to use my trades more appropriately. Also, those of us that have Ess/Mel premos will have 2-4 less premos to contribute to the best of 18 scoring.

After starting the season solidly with a 2214 avg over the first 2 rounds it will be interesting to see how far this puts me back and in this shorter season if it will be too many points to catch up on.

Do I get Pittos score? -> YES, Gawn has now been marked as having a bye in this round, so the emergency score will be counted.
Do I get Neale as C now? (Davis non player in forwards, Sturt E) -> YES, why would you think that would change from a normal VC loop?
Does Whitfields 8 drop out? YES, if his score is outside your top 18 scores for the round.
How do I maximise my score this week? You've already done everything you can to maximise your score for the week.

I'd say highly likely.

"The incubation period for COVID-19, which is the time between exposure to the virus (becoming infected) and symptom onset, is on average 5-6 days, however can be up to 14 days. During this period, also known as the “pre- symptomatic” period, some infected persons can be contagious. "
