The game can be played anytime they like. Just the scores from a SC point should not count.
Don't agree with that at all , whenever it is played it should count as any other game does.

Sure people may use their trades to target Essendon & Melbourne players , but if they are not premiums they may actually compromise their team long-term.

Depending on when the catch up game is played , their is no guarantee that players will appear in both games anyway or could have their game time reduced.

Just to add to this... Trades are still limited, so while people might want to target these players, their ability to do this in bulk will be limited as well

One of the concerns/issues raised here in SA (supposedly) when they first raised the idea of a hub was that their wasn't a 2nd ground up to AFL standard (which I didn't quite understand as they have played JLT & AFLW games at suburban SANFL grounds) so is their a 2nd suitable ground in WA that meets AFL standard ?

Has anyone had a stab at estimating what Par might be this week and what a “strong” total score might be?
I’m guessing around 1500/1600 might be a reasonably competitive par and 2000 might be the benchmark for a really strong score. Does this seem about right or too high?
Not sure, but I'm currently 15+C/1,556.

Have a feeling that in a normal round that's OK, would have had Oliver, Merrett, Viney, Petracca, Smith, Houston and Rowell to play which on the face of it was OK.

My score now becomes 1,556 with Houston, Rowell, Buderick, Sturt to go. 19, providing then all score 28+, the lowest score will drop out.

I know everyone is in the same situation, but seems I will be on the dis-advantaged side of the ledger.

Agree, think they should just move the entire comp to WA where they are covid free. cannot trust anyone in Vic, too many cases and exposure risk, cold weather doesn't help.
I would not want it here because I don't want Covid 19 imported. And besides Eddie McGuire would complain that the Pies are not getting enough games at the MCG.

I am one of those "disadvantaged" but I would rather cop it once and say good luck to those without too many Melb/Ess players than get disadvantaged twice. But it will be whatever it will be I suppose so time to move on.
Players who traded in Dons/Dees are now disadvantaged this week also.

If someone is keen on keeping a few trades spare for the catchup round, then good on them and it creates a whole new strategy angle in having to save them up to load up and unload after the 'bonus' round.

CMO is saying that all people in close contact with McKenna would need to self-isolate, which to me suggests a sizeable chunk of the playing list MAY be unavailable for 2 weeks.
To me, the most sensible thing would be to suspend the season for 2 weeks rather than further compromising the integrity of the comp. This is part of why the season was reduced to 17 rounds and has a floating end date.
I wonder if that applies to the entire playing group that train outside or his inside training group of 8 ?

Don't forget for everyone who is dissapointed/happy/upset with the Best 18 SC do have a "Contact Us" section.

Cheers
I doubt many will, I but I really do hope everyone does contact them.

They have definitely made the wrong decision... A terrible outcome.

Everyone should be given a fair chance to win this game. And that will not happen now. The only fair thing to do would be to void Round 3 and have clear rules in place heading forward.

It wouldn't surprise me to see someone take legal action over the decision.

So I now lose not only the chance for a good captain score this round, but also lose 6 of my players when some coaches might lose none... and I also lose any price increases from my 6 players, where some coaches might get 30 price rises. And then some coaches also will get the chance to trade in Gawn & Co to benefit from this supposed double game round.

Yeah seems fair.
It should only be double points if you had these players prior to the postponment announcement

How does that make it fairer for the next time? Any solution will be good for some and bad for others.

Even if you know in advance what the resolution is, it depends entirely on how many players you own.

It's consistent with what they have done in the past, and imo the fairest outcome.... It's just compounded this week because of all the other carnage, which is what it is.

Best 18 allows from 2 players from Mel/ Ess... Most people wouldn't own more than 3 players from the same club.

That's true and would help make things fairer, But there is also the huge question of Price changes.... Joe Bloggs may have no ESS & MEL players and gets full price increases on all his 30 players, where someone like me with 6 of those players would lose cash generation of around $200,000. In a game where cash generation is key... That's a huge hit. The only way to make that fairer, would to have no price changes for any player this round at all.

Also still doesn't help people like me who had the C on Gawn expecting a big score today... but have no viable options today so will be stuck with a poor Captain score. My only option is take Grundy's 103 as VC or go the 2 Gamer Rowell. How's that fair when I could have and would have switched to Neale if I'd known about this Best 18 crap.
