Whitecross could also be.an option next year.

Ave 85 (2012) was injured late in year. Resumed around rd 13 and played every game to the end of the year.

Ave 61 would make him around the 320-330 mark next year.

May be an option if looking for a good mid priced forward.
320k would mean he is too expensive for a cashcow and not good enough to be a keeper.

I think the Swans might go after Shaun Hampson but more likely Billy Longer
Tippett will pretty much play forward most of the time.

With Mumford gone, Pyke is the only recognised Ruckman and logic says no team can survive with only one Ruckman with whatif injury strikes.
Hampson <> Reid.

Carlton clearly don't lose in this deal and Swans don't win, hence I like it as a Carlton fan. I don't rate Reid highly but think there is a 1/3 chance he becomes a good fwd. I don't rate Hampson highly and know he never will be.

Alternatively you're quite welcome to take Hampson for basically any of your best 10 mids. Individually they'd all be in our best 22.

Hampson for Lamb I think is pretty much all that is or White's pick from Pies.
Hampson will be great for the Swans alternating with Pyke in Ruck Forward role.

Clubs aren't going to be doing any favours for Sydney. Need something more than Lamb for him.

What are the chances of Rowe getting a permanent gig in the CHF/Relief-Ruckman now that Hampson is going to Richmond?
Will MM play a tall team of Waite, Casboult and Rowe together to "follow the Jones"

Rowe could again be a tempting Ruck Forward swingman in SC and should still be cheap.

What you are forgetting is if Hampson is traded now, it means Warnock is staying and will play seniors regularly. Waite, Kruezer and Warnock in the 22 means if Casboult or Rowe want to be in side week to week then one of them have to work on their game to become a full time key forward

Correct. And from a SC viewpoint Kreuzer is now a must not have since he and Warnock will probably do 50% of the ruckwork.

Wouldn't pick him even with DPP considering how injury prone he is and with Warnock likely to play every week. Also he has screwed me 2 years running now.

Probably means that Roughead gets the top defender.
Does Gunston become a good option if that's the case? From memory was pretty consistent throughout last year and the bloke just doesn't miss.

Now that Buddy's gone, Gunston is upgraded to No.2 Forward means he gets more attention.

I recon he will lift his game to new levels next year and will be a must have. He be in my starting team. Tigers like to give him the ball and with the contract out the way and a bigger tank i think you be silly leaving him out if you want to win the 50k.
With johno on this one. M/F lock.

Still has upside in an improving and top 4-6 team it would be very risky not to start him IMO. Unless there is a role change, he should be able to run more games out and have less scoring fade outs.

Stood up big time in the finals, might even get a share of number 1 soon enough.

Dead eye **** which makes him absolutely fantastic for fantasy when he has a quiet day at the office. Should keep out the really low scores especially playing for Hawthorn.

Im with you guys, Dusty will certainly be in my side again next season and most likely for the fore sable SC future. Pretty much agree with everything you say IDIG, hopefully he keep working on his tank to improve on this season.

I can't see Gunston doing any worse that what he produced this season even if he does get the second best defender. Should just keep producing and in all likelihood improve, and we saw he certainly step up during the finals. Another thing to consider with the Hawks forward line setup next year is that we will also have Hale/Longer (once he's deal is completed) roaming in the forward line with a bit more height than Gunston. That being the case depending on certain teams defences he still might get the third defender on occasions.

Gunston's season averages are at least trending in the right direction: 49, 56, 71 and 83 this year.

Will be interesting to see what affect Buddy leaving has. When Tippett left Adelaide last year many were expecting Walker to improve but he started poorly before being injured. Mind you difference is that Gunston will also have Roughead in the fowardline alongside him, whereas Walker was pretty much the go to man with all the defenders hanging off him (No offence to Jenkins).

If Gunston's average does go up can it reach the 100 mark?

Yes I think so. His average was brought down by 2 sub affected and 2 30s last year but had 8 tons, 2 90s, 3 80s and a 135 average in the finals. Add to that the buddy factor and natural improvement (4th full season) I think he'll come close.
