Potentially he will be a very good player but I reckon it's one area of the ground where we are fairly deep and our structure and players seems reasonably unpredictable. There's Saad, McKenna, Redman, Cutler, Guelfi and Ridley to pair with our tall defenders. Cutler and Guelfi can both play wing and rotate at half-back.

I would have said I prefer all of those guys except Guelfi to him prior to the start of the year, on form I'd say he's better than all except Saad but it might just be form. I think at the very least McKenna takes points off of him.
Gleeson is another who come in last week.

J Ridley:
2020:
46/51 Effective Disposals (16/16, 13/17, 17/18)
17 Contested Possessions
17 Intercepts
22 1%
19 Marks (5 Contested)- 15th on Avg
88.6% Kicking Efficiency (26th in the Comp)
His kicking efficiency is the 3rd highest of players to have accumulated 15+ disposals a game (1st S Hurn, 2nd J Short)
9th for Effective Kicks- Top 10 listed below:

If he can maintain the role and efficiency then he should be a great value selection.
Legend! Thanks Con. I'm recording the replay of last weekend's game to analyse before making my decision.
Would say I'd feel more comfortable about him had the Bombers played 4 games instead of 3 this year. Although in saying that, his preseason games' numbers were also solid from memory.

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on potential trade options.

Fyfe out for Tom Mitchell and Doedee out for Ridley..... or Fyfe out for Tom Mitchell and McGrath out for Dangerfield. I like McGrath but Danger won’t get any cheaper. Also Ridley has been great but have I missed the boat?
I know this sounds pretty depressing but has anyone considered Bont’s 166 as a victim of circumstance?

I watched the game:

- Sydney sent Hewett (probably their best tagger) to tag Macrae from the bounce
- Bont wasn’t tagged (at least in the first half)
- Naughton got injured, so Bont had no choice but to play key forward from that point onwards. A few massive contested marks boosted his score first half (112 roughly to be exact)
- Mills sent to tag Bont second half. Damage already done - finished with about 50 points in the second half. Pretty quiet to be honest

Consider the following circumstances:
1. Sydney had actually tagged Bont from the beginning (like most teams do anyway)
2. Naughton hadn’t gotten injured

Would he have scored so highly? I would say he would have scored 100-110 - not sure if so many of you would be in a hurry to bring him in with that score (considering a few of you wanted to trade him out last week & week before)

I personally don’t think so, and I feel as if trading him in is chasing points (I don’t have him, and won’t be trading him in all season)

Edit: I’ll happily eat my words if he starts hitting 140+ a few weeks in a row ?

Well I'm tossing up either Bont to Titch... thinking the latter....

Is it a concern that Ridley's DT average has gone up by 4, and his SC average has gone up by 33?
It looks to me that he has got the most out of his basic stats and his current scoring could be hard to maintain. Could be a value D6 in a tough year but maybe just short of a proper premium. I already have one of those!

Planning on grabbing one of Petracca/Bont this week and one next week. Will be touch and go next week as to whether I can afford the other. I believe they have the exact same BE too. Which one should I go for this week and who should I cross my fingers and hope for next week?
Regarding Bont, I'm looking to bringing him in but not this week. I would like to see him score another 100+ this week, yes I will pay extra but at least it will give me some comfort that he has turned it around. Hope this helps.

Bont is a rollercoaster. He's had a price drop. It's just a question of whether you want to take the ride.

I am really considering bringing in Luke Parker

anyone know anything i dont know about him? not 100% sold
L Parker:
Has played a possible 154 games from 158 since 2013.
3 of his past 6 seasons have been 105+
Historically boasts a Contested Possession Rate above/below 50% (Currently 2nd most CP in 2020)
Boasts solid averages in the following categories: Tackles, Disposal Efficiency and Time on Ground
Goal-kicking midfielder
Great POD selection whilst still at an attainable price

There has been a significant down turn for most players in terms of their DT points, obviously due to the shortened games. So, any upturn is should be looked at favourably.
This is true and a good point.

Like for like I think his DT would be up 22 (72.3 x 1.25 vs 68), so his SC to DT ratio would have still improved, albeit notably less so.

Houston -> Sicily

Or

Pickett -> Serong
D Cameron -> S Hill

Freo play the Crows so these two could break out!?

Pondering whether to bring in Boak or Gaff. Dusty will be the sacrifice needed to make this happen.
